Teachers within the Diocese are responsible to the Principal and shares in the learning and teaching of subject matters to students of the school community. Teachers are responsible for delivering high quality contemporary learning and teaching for the community they serve which is embedded in the Catholic world view. It is a collaborative ministry of witness and service and part of the evangelising mission of the Church.

<p dir="ltr">Parramatta Marist High School is a Catholic school with a history and tradition spanning 200 years.&nbsp; Since 1875 it has been shaped by the Marist charism, one that flows from a basic trust in God and a desire to follow Christ in the way of Mary.&nbsp; Our pedagogy is based around Project/Problem Based Learning and Flipped Classroom through a collaborative approach in PLTs and Team-Teaching.</p> <p dir="ltr">Applications are invited for a secondary&nbsp;<strong>Junior STEM and Science Teacher</strong> from qualified teachers who demonstrate a sincere commitment to the aims and philosophy of Catholic education and possess appropriate teaching qualifications.</p> <p dir="ltr">Key focus areas</p> <p dir="ltr">The Secondary Junior STEM and Science&nbsp; Teacher will fit the following criteria:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Contemporary and authoritative professional knowledge and understanding of the teaching of Junior STEM and Science and the factors that influence learning and development, effective pedagogies, assessment and reporting, a wide range of resources, including interactive technologies, and their use in teaching and learning</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">An understanding of our pedagogy being based around Project/Problem Based Learning and Flipped Classroom and that the Junior STEM classes are stand-alone and timetabled as such</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Understanding of how to differentiate learning to cater for students needs in order to maximise student learning</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Exemplary professional practice which includes building effective relationships and managing complex interactions, creating and maintaining engaging and intellectually challenging and safe learning environments, planning, implementing and evaluating rigorous and inclusive learning programs</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Commitment to the continual improvement of their teaching practice and take opportunities for personal professional development.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Work creatively and constructively within a range of 'communities' inside and beyond the school and set high, achievable goals for themselves and their students.</p> </li> </ul> <p><strong>The Organisation</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 83 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">This position involves working with children.
