The Wellbeing Counsellor is accountable for supporting the Diocese's Strategic Intent of improving learning outcomes for all students by focusing on student wellbeing.

<p style="text-align: justify">We are seeking qualified and experienced Wellbeing Counsellor to join our counselling team on a temporary full time basis to commence at the start of term 1 2021. This is a 1 year contract role which provides an excellent opportunity to make a difference in students’ lives.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><em>About the Role</em></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify">Reporting to the Head Student Services, the Wellbeing Counsellor is accountable for supporting the System Strategic Intent of improving learning outcomes for all students by focusing on student wellbeing and promoting a professional and rewarding working life for teachers. You will work within a large team of counsellors who serve our school community. You will provide counselling services on a wide range of personal, social and psychological issues that may impact a student’s academic performance.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><em>The Ideal Candidate</em></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify">The ideal candidate will have demonstrated understanding of an inclusive approach to the provision of counselling services to meet the needs of students. Being accountable for promoting a culture of wellbeing that optimizes learning outcomes for students, Wellbeing Counsellors will be:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborating with schools and other professionals to promote school wide mental health and wellbeing initiatives</li> <li>Engaging families to support their child and to strengthen home-school partnerships</li> <li>Providing individual and group counselling services to students</li> <li>Liaising with external agencies and professionals to enhance student support</li> <li>Supporting leaders and staff to respond effectively to student welfare</li> <li>Collaborating with key stakeholders to design personalized plans for students</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><em>If you have a passion to</em><em> contribute to students’ wellbeing</em><em> – this role is for you!</em></p> <p><strong><em>To be considered for this role, you will have:</em></strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>A degree in Psychology or Social Work</li> <li>Significant experience in a similar role</li> <li>Registration with AHPRA for psychologists or eligibility for membership with AASW for social workers</li> <li>Demonstrated high level of verbal and written communication skills</li> </ul> <p>Applications Close 23 December&nbsp;2020.</p> <p><strong><em>The Organization</em></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify">Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 83 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney.&nbsp;This position involves working with children.
