<p><b>Head of Department - English </b></p><p><b>Full-time, Ongoing commencing Term 1, 2021 </b></p><p> </p><p>We are seeking an outstanding and dynamic Head of Department - English to join our school community. The successful applicant will be a strong, experienced, inspirational educator and leader who will contribute to our culture of high expectations. You will maximise our teachers and students performance and potential by focusing on continuous improvement. If you are an inspirational classroom practitioner, a proactive individual and a positive role model for our staff and students we would love to hear from you. </p><p> </p><p>To be considered for this position, you will: </p><p> </p><p>• be capable of developing strong relationships and an affinity with students, staff and parents in an open and approachable manner </p><p>• have the ability to establish and sustain a culture that promotes deep engagement with literature and powerful literacy skills </p><p>• be able to demonstrate expertise and leadership in the implementation of NSW Syllabus for the Australian Curriculum in English </p><p>• be an inspirational classroom practitioner with experience in the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning programs </p><p>• have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including an ability to mentor, guide and advise staff and students </p><p>• develop and pursue a strategic vision for their department that is clear, bold and ambitious whilst setting achievable and compelling goals </p><p>• take responsibility for ensuring the quality of teaching and learning in their faculty </p><p>• demonstrated administrative leadership including an ability to plan strategically and set courses of action </p><p>• have the skills and capabilities required to respond strategically to contemporary research, trends and initiatives that support the implementation of best practice </p><p>• have impeccable written and spoken English skills as well as outstanding organisation, administration and ICT skills </p><p>• have a NESA Teacher accreditation. </p><p> </p><p>All appointments are based on merit without reference to the religion of applicants.
