<h4>Working for Catholic Education Services, Cairns </h4><p>The Catholic Education Community – Diocese of Cairns, is a partnership between Catholic Education Services and twenty-nine schools. There are nineteen primary schools, 2 Prep to Year 12 College, and six secondary Colleges. The 29th school is a Special Assistance School with campuses in Cairns and Cooktown, catering for disengaged young people in Years 7-12. Two new schools opened in 2016 in Weipa (P-6) and Mt Peter (P-12).</p><h4>Purpose of the Role:</h4><p>The successful candidate will join the St Andrew’s Catholic College community. Our staff are highly experienced and teach a range of subjects. St Andrew’s operates a one-week timetable (8 periods per day - 40 minutes per period). The successful candidate will join the Middle Years (Year 6-9) team where the main teaching focus will be English and Humanities but may also include teaching Maths, IT and/or Dance. Teachers may be timetabled in other subject areas to meet their teaching allocation. </p><p>The successful candidate will also support our St Andrew’s Catholic ethos and contribute to the wider life of the school.</p><h4>Mandatory Qualifications and Requirements</h4><ul><li>Promote child safety at all times </li><li>Professional qualifications in Education </li><li>Registered or eligible to register with Queensland College of Teachers</li><li>Willingness to achieve Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School and Accreditation to Teach Religion in a Catholic School (Teachers of Religious Education) </li><li>Willingness to support and participate in the prayer, liturgy and sacramental life of the Church in the school community </li><li>Capacity to understand and implement Duty of Care and Workplace Health and Safety requirements. </li><li>Current drivers licence; </li><li>A strong demonstrated commitment to the objectives, vision and ethos of Catholic Education.</li></ul><h4>To Apply:</h4><p>Please download an application pack from our website - http://www.cns.catholic.edu.au/employment/current-positions/teaching-positions/</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>
