Brigidine College is seeking to employ a TAS Assistant. The TAS Assistant provides assistance to the Food & Design Technology, VET & Hospitality teachers with regard to the preparation and practical lessons and demonstrations. They purchase the requirements for the lessons and ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen and storeroom facilities. The role is permanent part time, term time only. Commencing 27 January 2021.

<p>Brigidine College is a school that thrives on providing excellence in education to 880 girls in the eastern suburbs of Sydney.  <br /></p><p><b> This position reports to:</b><br />• TAS &amp; VET Coordinators (TAS Years 7-12, VET Years 11-12)<br />• Director of Learning &amp; Innovation</p><p><b>Hours of work:</b><br />• Monday to Friday 7:30am – 12:30pm or 8:00am – 1:00pm</p><p><b>Skills and Qualities required:</b><br />• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills<br />• Strong organisational skills<br />• Excellent food handling skills<br />• First Aid Certificate is desirable <br />• Basic computer skills are required<br />• Organised and forward thinking ability<br />• Friendly and warm disposition, welcoming and helpful personality<br />• Ability to interact well with staff and students<br />• Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and be flexible<br />• Ability to work flexible hours<br />• A Valid Working with Children Check is required and also being supportive of the school&#39;s Catholic ethos.<br /></p><p><b>Tasks:</b><br />• Laundering tea towels &amp; aprons (daily), tablecloths (as required) <br />• Purchasing online and in store supplies of food, wood, textiles, laser cutters, business services requirements<br />• Store and rotate goods as required<br />• Maintain food storage areas, clean fridges, freezers, pantry, record fridge temperatures (twice daily)<br />• Fridges: clean up spillages, rotate stock, organise and sort<br />• Freezers: remove ice build up as required and rotate stock<br />• Managing two storerooms<br />• Ad hoc tasks as required by the Principal.</p><p><b>Preparation:<br /></b>• Preparing classrooms as per teacher requirements, organising for teacher demonstrations<br />• Restocking<br />• Packing away and cleaning after classes <br />• Organise / maintain in consultation with TAS &amp; VET Coordinators.<br />• Cleaning the Kitchen and Prep-room <br />• Maintaining cleaning products and cooking supplies, such as oils and condiments <br />• Respond to student and staff requests during class time <br />• Proper stewardship of food (store as required) <br />• Processing checklists - general duties, oven cleaning, sorting utensil trays, stocktaking and staff   requirements <br />• Dishwasher - empty (daily) scrub clean </p><p><b>General Cleaning:</b><br />• Stove tops <br />• Ovens<br />• All commercial VET equipment <br />• Food preparation machines <br />• Microwaves <br />• General Kitchen maintenance - repairs of refrigerator, hot water etc. may cause a need for  cleaning. <br />• Washing machine and dryer <br />• Laundry<br />•  Thorough end of term clean of all equipment.</p><p>We invite you to email a cover letter to the principal, addressing your suitability for the role and your current CV (including at least two referees).</p>
