St Andrew's Catholic College is seeking applications for a Secondary English Teacher to join the College Commencing 16 January 2021
<h4>Working for Catholic Education Services, Cairns
</h4><p>The Catholic Education Community – Diocese of Cairns, is a partnership between Catholic Education Services and twenty-nine schools. There are nineteen primary schools, 2 Prep to Year 12 College, and six secondary Colleges. The 29th school is a Special Assistance School with campuses in Cairns and Cooktown, catering for disengaged young people in Years 7-12. Two new schools opened in 2016 in Weipa (P-6) and Mt Peter (P-12).</p><h4>Purpose of the Role:</h4><p>The successful candidate’s main teaching focus will be in the areas of English within our Middle and Senior Years sector with the possibility of teaching in the Senior Years. The staff are highly experienced and teach a range of subjects. St Andrew’s operates a one week timetable (8 periods per day – 40 minutes per period).
</p><p>The successful candidate will support our St Andrew’s Catholic ethos and contribute to the wider life of the school. </p><h4>Mandatory Qualifications and Requirements</h4><ul><li>Promote child safety at all times
</li><li>Professional qualifications in Education
</li><li>Registered or eligible to register with Queensland College of Teachers</li><li>Willingness to achieve Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School and Accreditation to Teach Religion in a Catholic School (Teachers of Religious Education)
</li><li>Willingness to support and participate in the prayer, liturgy and sacramental life of the Church in the school community
</li><li>Capacity to understand and implement Duty of Care and Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
</li><li>Current drivers licence;
