<p><b>Health and Physical Education TEACHER 2021 </b></p><p>This position is a part time position (0.6) commencing in Term 1, 2021 </p><p><b>About Cairns Hinterland Steiner School </b></p><p>We are an independent school situated in Kuranda and offer education from Kindergarten to Class 10 as of 2021. We are co-educational and non-denominational school offering the nationally accredited Steiner curriculum based on the educational insights of Rudolf Steiner. </p><p>We aim to support each individual child, with an understanding of their stage in childhood development and with this understanding, we encourage each child&#39;s unique gifts and emerging potentials to unfold in a nurturing, imaginative and guided environment. We aim to create a place where goodness, beauty and truth permeate the pedagogical, physical, and social fabric. </p><p><b>The position </b></p><p>Cairns Hinterland Steiner School is seeking a Health and Physical Education teacher (HPE teacher) to implement the curriculum as outlined by the School in accordance with the Australian Steiner Curriculum Framework from class one upwards. In doing so, the HPE teacher is expected to work in close cooperation with colleagues as part of the College of Teachers and under guidance from the school’s values, policies and procedures. </p><p>Physical Education in the primary school aged child is focussed on supporting optimal physical and socio-emotional growth and development through semi-structured games and activities that promote team work; cooperation, group strategy, enjoyment of the movement and skills of sports and positive development of self-esteem. </p><p>As the students enter class five and beyond the opportunity for more complex, structured games and activity is important. For these students, the HPE teacher will oversee the introduction and playing of structured sports, organise school sports carnivals and support the participation of interschool sports. </p><p>This is an exciting opportunity for a HPE teacher who is looking to work across our small School using the integrated approach and curriculum of Steiner education. An understanding of the principles of Rudolf Steiner Education and a demonstrated passion for </p><p>children and teaching </p><p>2. Sport, Health and PE discipline knowledge appropriate for Primary and High School curriculum form Class 1 – 12, and an understanding of the human centred approach to learning. </p><p>3. A commitment to professional learning and inner development through anthroposophical studies and artistic activities. </p><p>4. Demonstrated knowledge of QCT professional standards including ;</p><p>• The ability to implement and contribute to the design of curriculum programs consistent with their intent </p><p>• an understanding of how students learn and effective classroom teaching strategies and the capacity to work with colleagues to continually improve teaching and learning. </p><p>5. The ability to work collegially and a willingness to actively participate in and contribute to the cultural and festival life of the school </p><p>6. Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills </p><p><br /></p>
