The college utilises the Berry Street education model, which focuses first on teaching students how to learn, improving confidence and self-esteem whilst building resilience and a growth mindset. </p><p><br /></p><p>Matching their curriculum to the personal needs of each student, they provide appropriate educational pathways through intensive holistic support, a flexible curriculum and a creative learning environment. Together, they create space and opportunities for young people to grow - within themselves, within society and with the earth to bring about positive sustainable change in their lives, their families and the community.</p><p><br /></p><p>The college is based in Fairbridge Village, near Pinjarra, plus a second campus in Kalgoorlie. A nationally and internationally recognised site, both for its heritage and environmental significance, the village consists of over 55 buildings, scattered among native trees, flowers and local wildlife. Their facilities include a Cafe, 25m swimming pool, full sized sporting oval, and a range of adventure activities, from archery to mini golf, rock climbing, high ropes and abseiling.</p><p><br /></p><p><b>About the Role</b></p><p><i>Fairbridge College </i>is currently looking for a full-time <b>Campus Principal</b> to join their team in Fairbridge Village (Pinjarra) WA.</p><p><br /></p><p>Reporting to the Executive Principal, this is a highly diverse and hands-on role that will see you <b>leading the day to day operations of the Pinjarra Campus, working with teachers and other staff to manage the transition to a new innovative and flexible model of education.</b></p><p><br /></p><p>Your key responsibilities will include:</p><p><br /></p><ul><li>Working together with other members of the College Leadership Team to implement and standardise a new teaching and learning model across the two campuses;</li><li>Overseeing the development and implementation of the processes and procedures for successfully transitioning students through various stages of their learning journey;</li><li>Supporting staff with ongoing professional development, leading regular whole-team reflective practice sessions and daily debriefs;</li><li>Collaborating with the other leaders and relevant staff on applications for Inclusive Education Funding and NCCD eligibility; and</li><li>Providing hands-on support to staff around around timetabling, behaviour management outcomes and provisioning of student support.</li></ul><p><b>Are you the right fit?</b></p><p>To be considered for this position you will be <b>a qualified teacher and registered, or eligible to obtain registration registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia</b>. Management experience would be highly regarded but is not essential, provided you are enthusiastic and can demonstrate a genuine passion for learning and teaching, with a commitment to supporting youth-at-risk.</p><p><br /></p><p>An experienced educator, you will have a proven ability to utilise different pedagogical and curriculum models, ideally with specific experience in Special Education, Language Disorders or Literacy Based Learning Disorders. A background in or understanding of the Berry Street Education Model, trauma informed practice, or relational pastoral care methods would be highly regarded.</p><p><br /></p><p>You&#39;ll be comfortable providing feedback, advice, and professional development support to staff, and be equally committed to your own growth, not afraid to ask questions and always open to learning new skills or approaches.
