St Joseph's College, Lochinvar is seeking a permanent part time (16 hours per week) School Officer – Reception & Communicaiton to join the school community commencing in Term 1, 2021. St Joseph’s College, founded by the Sisters of St Joseph in 1883 is a co-educational secondary school providing a rich and diverse educational experience for 940 students from Years 7 to 12. The College aspires to be a place of learning where students, staff and families are valued and respected for their uniqueness. Located in the stunning Hunter Valley, St Joseph’s has a blend of heritage and modern buildings which include a Chapel & Heritage Centre, new Administration and Resource Centre, a purpose-built hall and associated Café & Hospitality Centre, as well as recently refurbished Performance and Creative Arts spaces.

In this position you will work under the supervision of the Office Manager &amp; at the direction of the Principal to deliver high quality customer service as the first point of contact for visitors to the school, and develop and support the College’s communication strategy and plans; including the monitoring and management of ongoing communication channels, products and initiatives. Key Duties include - <br>• Sourcing content for, organising, coordinating and despatching of the fortnightly e-newsletter <br>• Drafting and producing printed and digital communication materials - newsletters, brochures, facts sheets, flyers, posters etc including basic graphic design <br>• Social media support when required; drafting social media posts with images and titles <br>• Maintaining and regularly updating the school’s website and ensuring that website material always adequately reflects our school culture, objectives and activities <br>• Providing support to smoothly run virtual events <br>• Creating slide packs on PowerPoint <br>• Assisting with related projects and administrative functions <br>• Rresponding professionally to and directing incoming calls <br>• Greeting, directing and accounting for visitors to the school <br>• Ensuring the cleanliness of the reception area and ensuring it is a welcoming space If you are passionate about providing exceptional customer service and possess a professional, warm, supportive and enthusiastic disposition; if you are an inquisitive and creative ‘outside of the box’ thinker, who is passionate about creating professional communications which are visually appealing and informative for both internal and external audiences, then we invite you to come and join our Team and school community. <br> <h3>Essential Criteria:</h3> <br> • Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and a commitment to actively support the Catholic ethos and culture of the school <br>• Relevant qualifiactions and experience <br>• Strong attention to detail, particularly to review and summarise information <br>• Demonstrated highly developed skills in the use and application of the Microsoft suite of products, with advanced word processing skills; plus proven experience designing and producing documents and publications using products such as Photoshop, Canva, MS Publisher. <br>• Experience in working with communicaitons, with the ability to prepare, edit and produce content for a range of communication channels. <br>• Excellent written communication skills and strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills <br>• Capacity to design, develop and implement communication products and activities. <br>• Self-motivated with ability to work autonomously and be responsible and accountable for own work with the capacity and willingness to work in a team environment; <br>• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities <br>• Capacity to initiate strategies for improvement <br>• Willingness to Comply or Compliance with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy.
