Thomas Carr College is a Year 7 - 12 Catholic Co-education College in Tarneit, west of Melbourne. We currently have 1100 students. The College serves the Parishes of St Peter the Apostle and St James the Apostle, located in Hoppers Crossing.

<p><b>About the College</b></p><p>As a Catholic School Thomas Carr College aims to educate our students with an appreciation of the spiritual as well as the intellectual and physical aspects of their lives. Student centered learning is enhanced via a highly developed middle-years program, abundant technology for all students and state of the art new buildings and refurbishments. </p><p><b>About the role </b></p><p>The Learning Support Officer’s major areas of responsibility are incorporated in those of a normal teaching role. The additional areas of responsibility are: </p><ol><li>Provides support to students with additional needs </li><li>To assist with the College’s response to the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) process </li><li>To provide effective, accurate and comprehensive support for all aspects of Learning Diversity initiatives. </li><li>To adhere to all Child Safety legislation and College requirements.</li></ol><p>Applications are currently invited from suitably qualified candidates commencing in Term 1 2021.<br /></p><p>Suitably qualified and enthusiastic applicants who are prepared to support the religious ethos of the College and possess the following are encouraged to apply:<br /></p><ul><li>Understanding of and commitment to Catholic Education </li><li>Willingness to support and accept the Thomas Carr College Vision and Mission Statement and the values that underpin it </li><li>Demonstrated evidence of working with students and staff in classrooms to support student learning outcomes </li><li>Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all members of the College community </li><li>Demonstrated proficiency using computers- the internet, email navigation and Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel </li><li>A demonstrated understanding of child safety and the appropriate obligations and behaviours when engaging with students </li><li>A Certificate III qualification in Educational Support or equivalent </li><li>A current Working With Children Check and National Police Record History Check and is a suitable person to engage in child-connected work </li><li>A driver’s licence</li></ul><p><b>To apply for this position</b></p><p>All applications are to include 3 referees, the applicant&#39;s CV and the Thomas Carr College Application Form located on the About Our College section on the College website: <a href="https://www.thomascarr.vic.edu.au/about/employment/" rel="nofollow">https://www.thomascarr.vic.edu.au/about/employment/</a> </p><p>Applications close 9.00am Monday 18 January 2021.  <br /></p>
