The successful applicant will display key characteristics in congruence with the Colleges core principles and the ethos that it posits. The successful applicant will supplement the College Principal, its executive team and Accounts department in managing the Human Resources of the College. The role will entail proficiency in areas including legal compliance, employment contracts, on boarding,recruitment/acquisition, termination of employment and strategies for effective HR management.</p><p>The chosen applicant will exhibit a well-founded understanding of the aforementioned requirements</p><p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Understand key aspects of employment legislation including the WH&amp;S Act, the Fair Work </li><li>Act, the Privacy Act, the National Employment Standards and state/federal anti discrimination legislation. </li><li>Interpret and apply key legislation to employment issues and provide advice to the executive </li><li>team on matters of importance. </li><li>Play a key role in the recruitment, selection and overall acquisition of key personnel. </li><li>Develop strong relationships with employees and management. </li><li>Understand the indicators of poor HRM and put in place the requisite measures to rectify </li><li>issues pertaining to poor HRM. </li><li>Put in place strategies to manage the relationship between employer and employee. </li><li>Manage the separation and termination of the formal relationship between employer and </li><li>employee. </li><li>Ensure compliance with legal requirements pertaining to unfair dismissal. </li><li>Provide an unquestionable commitment to superior customer service and provide assistance </li><li>to key stakeholders with regards to matters pertaining to the Colleges HR. </li><li>Encourage ethical HRM practises. </li><li>Benchmarking of key characteristics. </li><li>Implementation and analysis of performance reviews. </li><li>Review of current practises and an ability to ensure the Colleges HRM processes and </li><li>procedures are in line with best practises.</li></ul><p><b>Desirable Traits: </b></p><ul><li> Team oriented </li><li>Willingness to learn </li><li> Strong interpersonal skills </li><li>Active listening </li><li>Strong communication skills </li><li>Leadership qualities </li><li> Strong academic performance </li><li> Enthusiastic </li><li>Pro Active </li><li>Well-founded understanding of Office Suites and the requisite software.</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications: </b></p><ul><li>B.Commerce; B.Business (Human Resources) or any Human Resources oriented degree </li><li>studied at an accredited Australian University. </li><li>1-2 years’ experience/managerial experience in a similar role.</li></ul>
