<p><b>0.8 FTE - TEMPORARY POSITION</b></p><p>Applicants are invited from committed and energetic Learning Support Officers to join our Learning Support team in a dynamic and diverse position.  </p><p>The successful applicant will have a dual role working with:<br /></p><ul><li>Aboriginal students to improve educational outcomes and continue to develop cultural knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island cultures.</li><li>Students with a wide range of learning abilities to support their educational and wellbeing outcomes.</li></ul><p><b>Key selection criteria:</b></p><ul><li>Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage or proven experience working with ATSI students will be a distinct advantage.</li><li>As a member of De La Salle College Ashfield the role requires a commitment to Catholic education, a clear understanding of the values of Catholic schools and a willingness to contribute to the faith formation of students.<br /></li></ul><p><b>Essential Criteria:</b></p><ul><li>Demonstrate experience implementing classroom adjustments for students with a range of diverse learning needs to enhance learning growth across all KLAs.</li><li>Collaboratively and collegially work as a member of the Learning Support team.</li><li>Collect data and evidence to support NCCD requirements and an understanding of relevant legislation</li><li>Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal cultures, histories, and contemporary educational issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to plan and implement literacy and numeracy interventions targeted at improving educational outcomes for Aboriginal students.</li><li>Form partnerships and promote communication with parents of Aboriginal students – especially in relation to regular school attendance, achievement, and wellbeing.</li><li>Promote, organise and encourage student engagement in Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander cultural activities throughout the year, e.g. NAIDOC Week, Reconciliation Week and Sydney Diocesan Cultural events.</li><li>Highly effective organisational skills, the ability to prioritise and manage workload and to use the Google platform for communication and planning.</li></ul><p><b>Formal Qualifications</b>:</p><p>Qualifications and/or experience as a Learning Support Officer/Teacher&#39;s Aide is desirable.  A current Registration to Work in Sydney Catholic Schools is essential.</p><p>Applicants for this position are asked to ensure the following documentation is submitted by the due date to the Principal&#39;s PA:  maureen.oxford&#64;syd.catholic.edu.au </p><ul><li>A letter addressed to the Principal outlining your suitability for the position. </li><li>A current Curriculum Vitae including experience, qualifications, academic transcripts, Working with Children check and at least three referees, including your current employer.</li></ul>
