St Brigid's in Healesville, is seeking a Chaplain / Pastoral Care Worker for a part time contract position, 2 days per week, commencing in Term 2, 2021 to support our Primary School students and the community.

<p>St Brigid&#39;s recognises and values highly the importance of wellbeing amongst its students, staff and the community. Wellbeing is integral to the learning experience of all of our students assisting them to understand the importance of a positive attitude, resilience and satisfaction with self, relationships and their experiences.<br /></p><p>St Brigid&#39;s has an active Wellbeing Team, led by the Learning Diversity and Student Wellbeing Leader, the chaplain will work in collaboration with the members of this team. The chaplain will be asked to support the emotional wellbeing of students by providing pastoral care services and strategies that support the emotional wellbeing of the broader school community. </p><p><u>A Chaplain/Pastoral care worker engaged via the National School Chaplaincy Program (NSCP) may:</u><br /></p><ul><li>work as a member of the school’s wellbeing team in the delivery of student wellbeing services </li><li>contribute to improving student engagement and connectedness </li><li>contribute to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment</li><li>operate within the school community and with external providers. </li></ul><p><u>The roles and responsibilities of an NSCP chaplain/pastoral care worker include: </u></p><ul><li>providing support in areas such as student attendance, engagement and mental health </li><li>supporting students and staff to create an environment which promotes the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development and wellbeing of all students<br /></li><li>supporting students and staff to create an environment of cooperation and mutual respect, and promoting an understanding of diversity within the range of cultures and relevant traditions. </li></ul><p><u>NSCP’s minimum qualification requirements are either:</u><br /></p><p>Certificate IV in Youth Work </p><p>Certificate IV in Pastoral Care </p><p>Certificate IV in Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care </p><p>an equivalent qualification (as determined by the state) that must include competencies in mental health and responding to client needs (incorporating making appropriate referrals). </p><p><u>Selection Criteria:</u><br /></p><ul><li>Experience in providing support to children and their families to address social and emotional needs </li><li>Experience in delivering wellbeing services within a multidisciplinary team<br /></li><li>Ability to support schools and teachers to identify and develop educational, social and emotional programs to support children and young people who are vulnerable or at risk</li></ul><p>A chaplain/pastoral care worker engaged via the NSCP must be able to meet the definition of a chaplain as an individual who:</p><ul><li>is recognised by the school community and the appropriate governing authority for the school as having the skills and experience to deliver school chaplaincy to the school community </li><li>meets the NSCP’s minimum qualification requirements.<br /></li></ul><p>Chaplains/pastoral care workers must comply with state legislation and policies in relation to child protection matters, as well as meet minimum qualification requirements</p><p>Salary is in line with the Victorian Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2018 for an Education Support Worker, category ESB2, in the range of levels 1 - 6, aligned with the successful candidates qualifications and experience.</p><p>Applications are to be addressed to the</p><p>Principal</p><p>Vicky Wissell</p><p>Sent to: principal&#64;sbhealesville.catholic.edu.au</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
