Marian Catholic College, Kenthurst is seeking applications from suitably qualified TAS teachers who are passionate and energetic in their teaching to fill this 1pt middle leadership position. As a member of the middle leadership team, you will need to be highly capable in working with the 2pt TAS Leader of Learning in leading a dynamic team of professional educators within the TAS KLA. Applicants need to be comfortable working collaboratively in a team environment and be willing to be an active part of the Marian Community. As part of the mission of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Parramatta, the Leader of Learning is accountable for leading the implementation of the college learning framework and innovative pedagogical practice and supporting students to achieve improved learning outcomes.

<p>Marian Catholic College, Kenthurst is seeking applications from suitably qualified teachers of Technical and Applied Science (TAS) who are passionate and energetic in their teaching to fill this 1pt middle leadership position. As a member of the middle leadership team, you will need to be highly capable in working with the 2pt TAS Leader of Learning in leading a dynamic team of professional educators within the TAS KLA.</p><p dir="ltr">The Assistant (1pt) KLA Leader of Learning is directly responsible to the KLA Leader of Learning and shares in leading the Marian Catholic College Learning Community by supporting the Principal and the Leadership Team.</p><p dir="ltr">The Assistant KLA Leader of Learning supports the TAS KLA Leader of Learning in ensuring that the TAS KLA delivers high quality contemporary learning and teaching. The position supports the TAS KLA Leader of Learning for the design, development and delivery of quality curriculum across the Key Learning Area. The position assists the TAS KLA Leader with quality assessment and reporting, both internal and external. Furthermore, this role assists the TAS KLA Leader of Learning with CEDP and NSW Education Standards Authority compliance.</p><p dir="ltr">This is a permanent full-time (1FTE) position which includes a 1pt Leader of Learning allowance.</p><p dir="ltr"><strong> The Assistant TAS Leader of Learning is accountable for:</strong></p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">Working directly with students and parents/carers to support them in identifying and pursuing learning experiences that improve the learning outcomes for students </li><li dir="ltr">Leading cross-curricular collaboration to provide personalised, student driven, innovative learning </li><li dir="ltr">Building the capacity of teachers through collaborative professional learning and practice analysis: co-planning, feedback, mentoring and coaching </li><li dir="ltr">Drawing on contemporary research and analysis of data to support evidence-based practice </li><li dir="ltr">In partnership with the Leader of Learning - Curriculum, developing each teacher’s capacity in mapping student learning to training and accreditation authorities and other curricula and credentials </li><li dir="ltr">Tracking, reporting and meeting compliance requirements of assigned areas of responsibility and components of registration and accreditation in accordance with school, system and legislative requirements</li> </ul> <h4>The successful applicant will fit the following criteria:</h4> <ul type="disc"> <li>Extensive pedagogical knowledge base and understanding of how the identified subject areas are learned, what affects students’ opportunities to learn the subject matter and how the learning and teaching of the subject matter can be enhanced. </li><li>Qualifications and an outstanding knowledge of the relevant subject area. </li><li>Understanding of how to differentiate learning to cater for students needs in order to maximise student learning. </li><li>Sound understanding of the learning environments, lesson plans, use of technology, teaching practices and delivery of assessment and learning feedback. </li><li>Committed to the continual improvement of their teaching practice and take opportunities for personal professional development. </li><li>Work creatively and constructively within a range of 'communities' inside and beyond the school and set high, achievable goals for themselves and their students.</li> </ul> <p><strong>The successful candidate will also possess the following skills and/or experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Current Food Technology qualifications and experience up to stage 6. </li><li>Current VET Hospitality qualifications and experience up to stage 6 or prepared to undertake training to achieve competency in VET. </li><li>The capacity to challenge, inspire and lead teachers in contemporary and innovative learning and teaching practices. </li><li>High quality classroom management skills. </li><li>Strong ICT skills with the ability and willingness to integrate iPads and other technology into their teaching. </li><li>Strong communication and organisational skills ensuring that personal and team reporting deadlines are met. </li><li>Able to motivate students to achieve and to develop a life-long love of learning. </li><li>Able to create effective assessment techniques and have the flexibility to differentiate learning activities for students.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>How to Apply:</strong></p> <p>Applicants need to*:</p> <ul type="disc"> <li>upload a cover letter addressing the above mentioned criteria </li><li>upload their resume. </li><li>upload their relevant academic transcripts. </li><li>provide contact details of three professional referees from within education that have been your supervisor and/or Principal. </li><li>upload current Working with Children Check confirmation (or include WWCC#, expiry date and DOB). </li><li>have completed, or be in the process of completing, their classification with Catholic Education Diocese Parramatta (CEDP).
