Cranbrook School is seeking a suitably qualified and enthusiastic teacher of Year 7 to 10 Science for a full-time, temporary maternity leave cover position. The ability to also teach HSC Chemistry would be advantageous.

<p><b>ABOUT THE POSITION </b></p><p>This is a full-time, temporary position to commence from the beginning of Term 4, 2021 (5 October 2021) until the end of Term 1 2022, based at the Senior School campus in Bellevue Hill. </p><p>There is an opportunity to commence earlier during Term 3 (from 23 August 2021) if the successful candidate is available. </p><p>Cranbrook teachers enjoy a stimulating work environment in a team of talented professionals, opportunities for professional development, and attractive remuneration and benefits. </p><p><b>ABOUT YOU </b></p><p>The successful applicant will have a sound understanding and knowledge of the New South Wales curriculum and the ability to inspire students in their love of Science and pursuit of excellence. </p><p>Applicants must be excellent communicators, creative, able to work well with students, parents and other teachers, and willing to take an active and enthusiastic part in the full life of the School, including undertaking co-curricular activities outside normal teaching hours. </p><p>Applications are invited from both experienced teachers and early career teachers. </p><p><b>Key Selection Criteria </b></p><ul><li>Appropriate teaching qualifications to teach secondary Science and be eligible to teach in New South Wales </li><li>A proven ability to work in a collaborative manner to plan and deliver high quality teaching and learning programs </li><li>The ability to differentiate for a diverse group of non-selective students to engage and support the needs of all students </li><li>Excellent time management skills, as well as highly organised and resourceful </li><li>Well-developed communication, writing and interpersonal skills </li><li>A commitment to continual professional development and reflection </li><li>A genuine interest in the growth of young people </li><li>Current First Aid and CPR qualifications. </li></ul><p>Experience teaching within an IB framework would be an advantage but it not essential. </p><p>Experience in effective integration of ICT to deliver meaningful pedagogy is desirable. Cranbrook currently uses Canvas as its LMS as well as a variety of other software.</p><p> </p><p>The successful applicant for this position will be required to hold a current NSW Working with Children Check clearance.</p>
