Chevalier College is seeking applications for a Leader of Learning – Technology Integration to commence in 2022. This is a new role that will initially be a three year contract.

<p>The Leader of Learning – Technology Integration is an information technology education professional responsible for assisting classroom teachers to incorporate technological hardware and software into the lesson plan and to help teachers effectively integrate technology into the curriculum by: </p><ul><li>Learning the basics of using technologies </li><li>Using technologies to support instruction </li><li>Integrating new technologies into classroom practices </li><li>Discovering new uses for technology tools </li><li>Designing projects that combine multiple technologies </li><li>Focusing on cooperative, project-based and interdisciplinary work with technology being just one of the many tools that students use. </li></ul><p>The position will collaborate with the IT Manager and team in the areas of organising and supervising training activities, helping establish technology policies, and proposing learning objectives for staff as they relate to technology. The primary focus of the position is to enrich and support teaching and learning while strengthening the technology skills of students, teachers, and staff. The ideal candidate should work well with others, have a background in instructional design, and have clear goals and strategies for integrating technology into instruction. The position reports directly to both the Assistant Principal - Learning and Teaching and the IT Manager. </p><p><b>Essential Criterial </b></p><ul><li>Recognised teacher education qualifications and accredited to teach in NSW schools via NESA. </li><li>Ability and qualifications to teach Technologies, specifically Information and Software Technology, Information Processes and Technology, and Software Design and Development. </li><li>An understanding of and ability to apply contemporary learning and teaching methodologies, and their relation to technology integration. </li><li>Familiarity with methods for integrating technology into the curriculum using mobile devices. </li><li>An understanding of and ability to implement adult learning. </li><li>The ability to lead and implement change that is culture driven. </li><li>Experience with effective technology teaching strategies to teach software and hardware skills. </li><li>Technology skills in up-to-date computer software, including word processing, database, spreadsheet, web page development, presentation, digital video and audio editing, image processing, learning management systems, student management systems and graphics applications. </li><li>Positive and effective interpersonal communication skills. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively. </li><li>Awareness and preparedness to embrace Visible Learning principles and approaches. </li><li>Successful teaching experience or pre-service experiences. </li><li>The ability to develop and sustain strong, appropriate relationships that support and enhance the charism in the college. </li></ul><p><b>Desirable Criteria </b></p><ul><li>Ability and qualifications to teach Mathematics. </li><li>Ability and qualifications to teach Religious Education and/or other KLA courses. </li></ul><p><b>Responsibilities </b></p><ul><li>Collaborating on the successful integration of hardware, software and internet resources, in support of student learning, and assisting teachers to meet common core standards for subject-area and technology-learning objectives.<br /></li><li>Creating learning resources for teachers, staff and students. These may include websites, tutorials, instructional videos, interactive programs, and databases that support teachers in integrating technology. Ideally, teachers will be guided and encouraged to develop their own resources, while the Leader of Learning – Technology Integration will continue to provide additional support as needed. </li><li>Coordinating instruction to meet technology proficiency goals including training, lab sessions, and workshops regarding computer use. </li><li>Recommending software and related resources. </li><li>Assisting in planning and implementing a variety of extended opportunities for student learning. </li><li>Identifying trends in software, curriculum, teaching strategies and other educational areas. </li><li>Assessing technology skill levels of students, teachers and staff. </li><li>Assisting in the creation, maintenance, and integration of technology plans. </li></ul><p><b>Other </b></p><ul><li>Full-time position, initially a three year contract. Renewal of the contract role is subject to a satisfactory appraisal and the College’s ability or need to continue the position beyond the contract term. </li><li>The position will receive a coordinator 2 allowance on top of their teacher classification and a minimum release from face-to-face teaching of 0.2 FTE. Practically, the release will be closer to 0.6 FTE. </li><li>This position is not a network technician position. </li><li>The preferred applicant is required to undertake extracurricular responsibilities as part of the employment arrangements at the college. </li><li>Salary and conditions will be as per the NSW Catholic Independent Schools (Teachers – Model B) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2020. </li><li>This is a child-related position. Preferred candidates are required to possess a valid a Working With Children Check and will be subject to identification verification.</li></ul>
