<p>The successful applicant will commence on 27 January 2022 and must have a demonstrated commitment to Catholic Education and to the safety and wellbeing of children. St Catherine&#39;s community is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care. </p><p>St Catherine&#39;s Catholic School, Lalor West is seeking an experienced and dedicated School Officer - Administration. This role is a contract position with the possibility of an ongoing permanent position. </p><p>The days and hours will be: </p><p>Monday 8.15am - 4.00pm                                                                                                               </p><p>Tuesday 8.15am - 4.00pm                                                                                                                    </p><p>Wednesday 8.15am - 4.00pm                                                                                                              </p><p>Thursday 8.15am - 4.00pm                                                                                                                    </p><p>Friday 8.15am - 4.00pm </p><p> </p><p>The position of School Officer – Administration works in collaboration with the Principal, Deputy Principal and Office Manager to support the effective coordination of the school office. As an initial point of contact, it is integral that the School Officer - Administration presents a professional image, strong interpersonal communication skills and creates a welcoming, warm and positive impression via phone, email and in person.<br /></p><p> </p><p>The role holder will be required to undertake a broad range of administrative tasks to support the school community and will offer diversity within the scope of work being undertaken. The role holder will also need to support the Principal and Deputy Principal as required.<br /></p><h4>Qualifications<br /></h4><p>It is highly desirable that you have at least a Cert III Business Administration, or Diploma of Business, or equivalent.  </p><h4><b>Selection Criteria</b></h4><ul><li>Proficiency in the use of computerised processing and ICON software system</li><li>Ability to work cooperatively within a team and to prioritise workloads in a busy school office environment</li><li> Strong organisational and time management skills with excellent knowledge of office management processes including handling and preparation of correspondence, structuring and maintenance of general office and student filing systems and operation of printing/photocopying machines</li><li> Adhere to school policies and procedures </li><li>Pursue and participate in professional learning: school based, systemic and other sourced programs </li><li> Hold a current Working with Children Check and Current First Aid Certificate</li><li>Excellent oral (face to face contact and phone skills) and interpersonal skills </li><li>Ability to use discretion and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information in relation to students, staff and parent/carers within the school community</li></ul><h4><b>Key Accountabilities </b></h4><p><b><u> </u></b></p><p>The School Office Administrator will represent St Catherine&#39;s Catholic School in a professional, warm, friendly and efficient manner and must be able to work well in a team and interact effectively with both children and adults, showing discretion and respecting confidentiality.</p><p><b><u>Duties include:</u></b></p><p>Support the delivery of tasks associated with community participation and school functions:</p><ul><li>Assist with the organisation of school events </li><li>Arrange catering for school events </li><li>Assist in the production of event supplies and merchandise</li></ul><p>Provide administrative support that meets the day to day requirements of the school including:</p><ul><li>Coordinate the dissemination of information to staff and students </li><li>Production of documents – letters, registers, spreadsheets </li><li>Assist in the production of internal and external documents </li><li>Sort, prepare and file documents as required </li><li>Assist with banking and receipting of items</li><li>Maintain attendance rolls and input data</li></ul><p>Support the delivery of operational tasks associated with reception and administration including: </p><ul><li>Mail management and distribution </li><li>Responding to incoming telephone, email and postal enquires </li><li>Dealing professionally with and directing enquiries of parents, visitors and contractors </li><li>Data entry to support registers and record management</li><li>Provide coordination to students and staff with first aid and sick bay</li><li>Liaise with parents and staff for sick or injured students </li><li>Maintain and update student medical alert information, ensuring confidentiality </li><li>Administer medication to students as per requirements in conjunction with protocol and process </li><li>Distribution and maintenance of first aid kits </li><li>Maintain student medical records and accident reporting </li><li>Provide support in parent/student reception  when required </li><li>Assist with financial and banking duties as requested </li><li>Assist with the filing of supplier accounts etc</li><li>Support collegiate learning and development by embracing new ideas and sharing experience and learning</li><li>Any other duties as reasonably requested to support the functionality of the school</li></ul><p><b>Salary Range: $29.81 - $31.07 per hour pending experience</b><br /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
