As part of the mission of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Parramatta, the Information & Privacy Officer is accountable for providing support for effective day-to-day operation of legal procedures and information management.

We are looking for an experienced Information &amp; Privacy Officer to be accountable for providing support for effective day-to-day incident case management and operation of legal procedures and information management.</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>About the opportunity:</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">Reporting to the Manager, Legal, Policy &amp; Research , the focus of your role will be to support the effective day-to-day privacy and records retention case management and operation of legal procedures and information management. More specifically you will:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Optimise the management processes of legal incidents dealt by the Governance, Risk &amp; Strategy team, including privacy, records retention, requests for information and other legal processes and related documentation</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Provide advice and support with internal procedures to ensure CEDP employees understand and respond properly to matters related to privacy, information and records</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Liaise with legal representatives by communicating, obtaining information and following up on referred matters or incidents</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Provide advice, support, issue resolution and referral to stakeholders on information management, coordinating and monitoring request for access of information</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Assist in the development and maintenance of CEDP’s Retention and Disposal Schedule; responding to and advising CEDP employees about inquiries concerning retention and disposal requirements and participating in relevant committees, stakeholder and working groups relating to records management including initiating and following up relevant actions</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Review, verify, and route incoming correspondence, reports and legal documents&nbsp;</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>About you:</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">To be successful in this highly rewarding role you will demonstrate alignment to the purpose and core values of CEPD along with:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Extensive and proven legal documentation procedures experience ( minimum 5 years), supporting Executives and key stakeholders</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Superior attention to detail</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">The ability to manage workflow, priorities, work well under pressure and be flexible</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">High level of professionalism – face to face, over the phone and through correspondence</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Demonstrated experience in working in a large team environment</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Self-motivated individual, who displays a pro-active style, and an inherent desire to provide excellent customer service.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Relevant tertiary qualification<br><br></p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">We believe that our employee community is a key strength of our organisation and we aim to attract the best talent to achieve our strategic goal of being leaders in quality, faith-based education and an Employer of Choice in our sector.
