<p>Magdalene Catholic College is a coeducational systemic high school in the Macarthur region within the Diocese of Wollongong. The College provides quality Catholic education, based around values of discipleship and service, quality relationships, love of learning and personal best. Magdalene Catholic College is well known for its focus on excellence and the development of the whole person spiritually, physically, culturally and academically. With a growing student population (currently 1095 students), the College enters its twenty-third year in 2021.</p> <p>Two permanent part time positions commencing 28 January 2022. The successful applicants will be required to provide learning support for students with individualised needs as well as teaching various Learning Support classes.&nbsp;</p> <p>The role of Learning Support Teacher exists to support teachers through identifying and responding to the additional learning needs of students, and to assist students with additional learning and support needs through targeted interventions, in class, small group and individual support.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.</li> <li>Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.</li> <li>Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.</li> <li>Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning across various KLAs.</li> <li>Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.</li> <li>Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers and the wider College community.</li> </ul> <p>DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA</p> <ul> <li>up-to-date knowledge of NCCD procedures and policies including experience working with students with various learning needs would be advantageous.</li> <li>willingness to create and run student interventions. The ability to work across a variety of areas including literacy, numeracy, behaviour management, organisation and social skills development, to enhance the development of confident and capable learners would also be of great benefit in this role.</li> </ul> <p>GENERAL CAPABILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Well-developed interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Well-developed oral and written communication skills.</li> <li>Strong organisational skills.</li> <li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.</li> </ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Appropriate qualifications for teaching / Learning Support</li> <li>Level B Accreditation in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain level within the first 5 years of employment&nbsp;with CEDoW.</li> <li>The applicant must be registered to teach with NESA.</li> </ul> <p>WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE</p> <p>This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.</p> <p>Applicants for this position must be able to comply with NSW Public Health Orders that are in place at the time of the commencement date of the position.
