</p><p>The College is seeking to appoint an energetic and collaborative professional to teach PDHPE and lead Sport into its next phase of development. Suitably qualified professionals who have the proven capacity to motivate and mentor others are invited to apply. Experience in teaching the HSC PDHPE and/or CAFS course, are advantageous. The ideal applicant will have a dynamic proactive approach to teaching, immersion into College life, enthusiasm for teaching young people, with experience in the subject area to the HSC level.
</p><p>The sporting program for Primary and Secondary students at Mount Annan Christian College is a vibrant part of School life, encouraging participation not only for competition but also for fitness and lifestyle outcomes. Team spirit and fair play are values well considered at MACC and fostering a love of team between peers and across the College for whole school events is an important cultural quality. The College is part of the IPSSO Primary and MISA Secondary Representative Competitions, as well as CSSA and CIS.
</p><p>Applications are welcome from teachers seeking promotion and existing Sport Coordinators.
</p><p>This position reports directly to the Head of Secondary and commences at the start of Term 1, 2022.
</p><p>Key Selection Criteria
</p><p>• Lead and manage Sport, modelling best practice, implementation and design Sport Programs, monitoring achievement of students and effectiveness of teachers, dealing with all operational, budgeting and record keeping requirements and ensuring fair and effective student management procedures.
</p><p>• Provide active leadership for all those involved in Sport programs. This will include mentoring, collaborating and the sharing of information so that staff motivation is at an optimum level to encourage continuous improvement in the quality of Sport.
</p><p>• Create effective teams by inspiring and motivating students and staff. Be a positive role model for other staff and students by taking responsibility for the continuous improvement of the team within the context of the College.
</p><p>• Provide active leadership in contemporary learning practices that enhance student achievement and performance across Sport. Capacity to collaborate with external organisations and associations in the further development of Sport.
</p><p>• Qualification in Education and registration with the NSW Institute of Teachers.
</p><p>More specifically, the successful candidate will have the ability to:
</p><p>• Exhibit successful teaching experience and teach Stage 4 to 6 PDHPE
</p><p>• Collaborate within a team in the further development of the PDHPE Faculty and Sport program
</p><p>• Contribute to an innovative educational direction that exists within the College
</p><p>• Support and enable staff members to achieve their best potential
</p><p>• Drive academic improvement and results in all areas leading up to the HSC
</p><p>• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the curriculum and assessment
</p><p>• Initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
</p><p>• Demonstrate well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and engage with students, parents and staff
</p><p>• Current First Aid qualification (including CPR and Anaphylaxis Training) (required or willing to obtain)
</p><p>• Coordinate and lead Secondary sports initiatives and programs
</p><p>• Work with Executive staff to coordinate and approve sporting events and fixtures in line with the College Calendar
</p><p>• Actively oversee and coordinate weekly College Sport and MISA Sport programs
</p><p>• Coordinate the event management of College Secondary School Sports carnivals with the assistance of the PDHPE faculty – Swimming, Cross-Country and Athletics Carnival
</p><p>• Actively oversee and coordinate teams for entry into CSSA Gala Days
</p><p>NESA accreditation and a current WWCC approval number is required.
