Teachers within the Diocese are responsible to the Principal and shares in the learning and teaching of subject matters to students of the school community. Teachers are responsible for delivering high quality contemporary learning and teaching for the community they serve which is embedded in the Catholic world view. It is a collaborative ministry of witness and service and part of the evangelising mission of the Church.

We are always on the lookout for top talent to help us achieve our strategic goal of inspiring the future, through quality catholic schooling and by strengthening the professional lives of our employees.</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>About the opportunity:</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">We invite applications from suitably qualified teachers who have a well developed capacity to support our PDHPE faculty to take forward the mission of Catholic Schools and to ensure high quality education to maximize learning outcomes for all students.&nbsp;More specifically you will:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Structure PDHPE lessons to meet the physical, social and intellectual development and characteristics of your students&nbsp;</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Create and maintain a safe, inclusive and challenging learning environment and implement fair and equitable behaviour management plans</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Give the appropriate notice on all formal assessment tasks as per the assessment schedule;</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Maintain records of student achievement;</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Provide an extensive pedagogical knowledge base and understanding of how the identified subject areas are learned, what affects students’ opportunities to learn the subject matter and how the learning and teaching of the subject matter can be enhanced.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Work creatively and constructively within a range of 'communities' inside and beyond the school and set high, achievable goals for themselves and their students.</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>About you:</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">To be successful in this highly rewarding role you will demonstrate alignment to the core purpose and values of Emmaus Catholic College along with:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Tertiary Qualification in Education</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Qualified to teach Stage 4 and Stage 6 PDHPE</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Statements of Service</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Effective interpersonal skills and collaborative teamwork</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">High quality classroom teaching skills which enable students with a diverse range of needs to achieve their full potential</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Sound knowledge of and commitment to our Catholic faith and mission in Catholic education</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Willingness to teach Religious Education</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">We believe that our employee community is a key strength of our organisation and we aim to attract the best talent to achieve our strategic goal of being leaders in quality, faith-based education and an Employer of Choice in our sector.
