<h4>Permanent, Full-Time</h4><h4><br /></h4><h4> </h4><p>Wenona is seeking an experienced and passionate HR Manager that appreciates the demands of an independent school with over 250 employees across a broad range of domains, and can manage people and HR related processes across the School in a calm, considered and efficient manner. This role works to coordinate and refine HR programs and services including professional development, accreditation processes, enterprise agreement interpretation, performance development programs, recruitment processes, associated compliance and staff wellbeing programs. </p><p>Wenona values professional services staff who demonstrate a positive and proactive approach to their work and have a willingness to participate fully in the life of the School. We look for enthusiastic, dedicated and capable staff who demonstrate initiative, good humour, and professional behaviour and support the values and aims of the School as a global learning community. </p><p>The successful candidate will provide sound advice, services and support to the Principal and Deputy Principal (Staff and Strategy) to ensure compliance and inform HR decisions. </p><h4>Key priorities</h4><h4><br /></h4><h4> </h4><p><b>Human Resource Operations </b></p><ul><li>Coordinate and deliver operational HR services and programs including recruitment and selection processes, performance development and management, employee life cycle management, professional development programs, teacher accreditation and policy development and implementation to support smooth functioning of day to day HR operations aligned with the School’s established culture.</li><li>Manage the administration of HR activities including contract preparation, onboarding, leave management, resignation / termination separation administration, security, records, employee benefits, remuneration, induction and activities relating to WGEA to ensure compliance with organisation, legislative and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Manage the development and review of individual employment contracts to ensure compliance with legislative and MEA and award requirements, protection of school interests and equitable treatment of employees.</li></ul><p><b>Specialist Advice </b></p><ul><li>Provide sound advice to the Principal and executive team, based on analysis and evaluation, to inform decision making.</li><li>Provide operational HR advice to the Principal and executive team to ensure consistent and fair treatment of employees, support and inform decision making and contribute to effective problem resolution.</li><li>Maintain industry HR knowledge and awareness to identify emerging trends, inform HR decisions and contribute to contemporary programs and policies.</li></ul><p><b>People Management </b></p><ul><li>Contribute to people management strategies and programs, providing input to workforce planning and talent identification and management, to support effective recruitment, performance management, attraction and retention of talent.</li><li>Guide the implementation of people management practices in line with Human Resource frameworks, policies and processes to support consistency and fairness throughout the organisation.</li></ul><p><b>General </b></p><ul><li>Perform role and responsibilities in accordance with statutory obligations, school values and policies to support the School’s vision and mission.</li><li>Undertake all other reasonable duties and comply with reasonable instructions as directed.</li></ul><p><b>Education and Experience </b></p><ul><li>Tertiary qualifications in HR Management or related field combined with experience in a HR generalist position</li><li>Demonstrated experience in WHS and Return to Work Co-ordination</li><li>Knowledge of WGEA legislation including interpretation and practical application</li><li>Ability to manage ICT programs that support HR Management, including recruitment and onboarding software, and a complex database</li><li>Ability to undertake and manage workplace investigations as appropriate, and to manage staff grievance procedures in line with School policies</li><li>Sound planning and organisational skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities and expectations</li><li>Current NSW Working with Children Check</li></ul><p><b>Personal Attributes </b></p><ul><li>An appreciation of the many individuals who contribute to our unique School culture, high levels of empathy and compassion are essential for the role</li><li>Demonstrated judgment, flexibility, and foresight</li><li>Proven ability to work autonomously and to meet deadlines</li><li>High level verbal and written communication skills to provide advice and present information and reports in a range of forums</li><li>Interpersonal and relationship building skills to build effective partnerships with a wide range of people</li><li>Sense of Humour</li></ul><h4>General conditions of the role </h4><ul><li><b>Award &amp; Classification</b>: Independent Schools NSW (Support and Operational Staff) Multi Enterprise Agreement 2017.</li><li><b>Hours of work</b>: Permanent, Full-Time. Daily hours will generally be Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm (including 30 mins unpaid lunch break).</li><li><b>School Holidays: </b>Annual Leave should only be taken during the student holiday period. The School has mandatory closure between the Christmas/New Year period (10 days) and you will be expected to take this time as annual leave.</li><li><b>Reporting Line: </b>All positions report to the Principal. The Line Manager for this position is the Deputy Principal (Staff and Strategy) or Business Manager.</li><li><b>Professional Learning:</b> You will be expected to attend and contribute to all staff professional development days and requirements as outlined in the School’s calendar.</li><li><b>Parking</b>: There is no car parking provision for this role.</li></ul><h4>Application process </h4><p>Applicants should apply below, sending full curriculum vitae, a cover letter, addressing the selection criteria, copies of qualifications and names of two referees.
