<p>St Patrick’s College is seeking to appoint an energetic and highly skilled Teacher Librarian to join our highly professional and collaborative team of educators. </p><p> </p><p>The successful applicant will be committed to the Catholic ethos of the College and utilise effective learning and teaching strategies and technologies to enhance 21st century pedagogy.</p><p>To be successful in this role you will need to have a passion for reading and for inspiring our young people to love reading. You will need the demonstrated ability to be an innovative classroom teacher, who is committed to the College&#39;s philosophy that every student can learn, employing a wide range of teaching and learning strategies and who is willing to explore new models of teaching to improve outcomes for all students.</p><p><b>Essential criteria</b></p><ul><li>A strong commitment to the mission of Catholic Education and a willingness to actively support and promote the Catholic, religious, academic and pastoral dimensions of College life</li><li>Thorough knowledge of the Australian Curriculum with the ability to organise, select and design content for effective teaching and learning including a comprehensive understanding of assessment and reporting strategies and the need to provide effective and timely feedback to parents and students</li><li>Skills in maintaining an efficient and thorough system of identifying, organising, circulating and retrieving resources, specifically utilising the Oliver library system</li><li>An understanding of library collection management, including purchasing, budgeting and culling to ensure a balanced and rich collection to meet the needs of students and staff at St Patrick&#39;s College</li><li>Appropriate teaching qualifications and current NESA registration</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary pedagogies, including flexible learning spaces and team teaching</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of information and communication technologies</li><li>Demonstrated ability to support the continual development of information literacy for staff and students, with the intention of building lifelong learners</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively across a range of teams to support their collaborative goals in alignment with the school plan</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the capacity to develop productive and caring relationships with students, parents and staff where the focus is on the learning and wellbeing of the student</li><li>Ability to manage contemporary library spaces to accommodate a range of purposes and audiences, such as student wellbeing, study groups, staff learning and literacy activities</li><li>Demonstrated ability to develop innovative programs to engage students in a love of reading</li></ul><p><b>Desirable criteria</b></p><ul><li>Ability to teach Religious Education and/or English</li></ul><p>Applicants for the above position should provide their curriculum vitae as well as a written response to the essential criteria to <a href="mailto:principal&#64;spcsutherland.catholic.edu.au." rel="nofollow">principal&#64;spcsutherland.catholic.edu.au.</a>  Applicants should supply the names and phone numbers of three referees, including your current and most recent prior principal.</p><p>Please note that only those applicants who have been successful in the short-listing process will receive a reply.</p>
