Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) comprises 38 Catholic schools with more than 19,000 students enrolled across the Illawarra, Macarthur, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands regions.

<p>The Director of Schools invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for this full time position with Catholic Education, Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) commencing January 2022.&nbsp;This is an initial three-year contract with the possibility of extension or employment in one of the Wollongong Diocesan schools, in consultation with the Head of Service.</p> <p>As a member of the School Improvement Services - Secondary team (SIS-S), and with familiarity and commitment to Lighting the Way Vision &amp; Strategic Direction of CEDoW, the Education Officer will support, challenge and extend the practice and pedagogy of teachers and leaders in Diocesan schools to ensure individual student learning growth and the delivery of high-quality challenging curriculum across all Key Learning Areas.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA</p> <p>The successful applicant will possess and demonstrate:</p> <ul> <li>A sound understanding of and a willingness to support the mission and purpose of a Catholic school.</li> <li>Capacity to build a learning culture of shared responsibility for quality teaching and student learning growth, informed by data.</li> <li>A comprehensive understanding of NESA requirements and a proven ability to implement effective teaching programs.</li> <li>The ability to lead, mentor and work collaboratively and professionally develop staff focusing on individual student challenge and growth.</li> <li>Capacity to analyse system and school data to identify areas of high performance and emerging issues in learning, teaching and curriculum.</li> <li>Commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the wider school community.</li> </ul> <p>The following GENERAL CAPABILITIES are applicable to the role</p> <ul> <li>Highly developed interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Highly developed oral and written communication skills.</li> <li>Ability to lead and work collaboratively in a team environment.</li> <li>Strong organisational skills.</li> <li>Competent Information and Communication Technology skills (MS Office and Google Suite).</li> </ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>Successful leadership experience at a whole school level, across a curriculum &amp;/or pedagogical context.</li> <li>Bachelor Degree in Education (or suitably related discipline).</li> <li>Accredited to Level C in accordance with the To Work, Teach and Lead Policy, or a commitment to gain this level within the first 5 years of employment within CEDoW.</li> <li>The applicant must be accredited with NESA to teach in NSW.</li> </ul> <p>WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE</p> <p>This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.</p> <p>Applicants must be able to comply with any NSW&nbsp;Public&nbsp;Health&nbsp;Orders&nbsp;pertaining to Education that are in place as of the commencement date of this position.
