Domremy College is seeking to appoint an outstanding, innovative and experienced teacher with a strong academic background for this prominent position on the College Leadership Team. This role attracts a 3 point remuneration and a significant time allocation. This is a full-time ongoing position commencing Term 1, 2022.

<p><b>About the Role:</b></p><p>The Leader of learning and Innovation is a member of the College Leadership Team.  The role leads the Heads of Department in the College, oversees the learning agenda and is responsible for working with teachers in the development, implementation and evaluation of future-focused, innovative and effective pedagogy.  The Leader of Learning and Teaching works with the KLA and Pastoral teams within a professional learning community context to enhance the learning outcomes for students.</p><p><b>Key Selection Criteria: </b></p><p>The Leader of Learning &amp; Teaching is a delegated responsibility by the Principal for the leadership and management of the following key areas:</p><ul><li>Support the mission and ethos of the Catholic School in the Nano Nagle tradition. </li><li>Lead the ongoing development of quality differentiated pedagogy, authentic learning and assessment which also includes Newman Selective Program (Gifted &amp; Talented), Project Based Learning, and other student-centred pedagogies.</li><li>Implement and lead significant and sustainable school improvement initiatives. </li><li>Collaborate with teachers and staff to build teacher and leader capacity in innovative pedagogies and use of information technologies. </li><li>Collaborate, plan and provide effective leadership of school-wide professional learning initiatives.</li><li>Collaborate with staff to analyse school and system data for improvement. </li><li>Lead and share innovative learning and teaching practice within the College. </li><li>Demonstrate excellent presentation and communication skills. </li><li>An ability to create a culture of excellence and high expectation through positive support of student environment.</li><li>An outstanding classroom teacher who models high quality and innovative practice.</li><li>An awareness of current trends in pedagogical practice and the ability to discern their relevance to a particular context. </li><li>An enthusiasm for working in a collaborative learning environment with demonstrated skills as a passionate educator </li><li>Demonstrate leadership in school improvement as a member of the College Leadership Team. </li></ul><p> </p><p><b>Desirable:</b><br /></p><ul><li>Experience in teaching Stage 6.</li><li>Ability to teach Religious Education is an advantage. </li><li>Masters in Education/Educational Leadership or similar.</li><li>Experience as a Middle Leader is essential.</li></ul><p>The Leader of Learning and Teaching is appointed with a contract for an initial period of two years, renewable on the completion of a successful Performance Appraisal combined with a permanent teaching appointment.</p><p>Applicants should register their expression of interest by submitting a letter and CV to the Principal, Mrs Antoinette McGahan, outlining their experience, suitability and vision for this role.
