Wenona is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Receptionist to provide exceptional customer service at our Miller St reception.

<h5>Permanent, Part-Time </h5><p>Wenona values professional services staff who demonstrate a positive and proactive approach to their work and have a willingness to participate fully in the life of the School. We look for enthusiastic, dedicated and capable staff who demonstrate initiative, good humour, and professional behaviour and support the values and aims of the School as a global learning community. </p><p>This position has primary responsibility for being the first contact point and information source for members of the Wenona community visiting the School via our Miller St entrance. The receptionist provides exceptional customer service to a wide range of stakeholders and is responsible for the School’s Miller St reception function. </p><p>The position also contributes to administrative support services at the School and the maintenance of a positive internal culture where service, integrity and humour are valued. </p><p>As with all support staff positions, this role is central to the operation of the School and supports student learning. All of our support and operations staff are professionals who have a commitment to their own professional learning, with a firm belief in the values of the School. They work together with the academic staff to ensure the highest educational standards. </p><h4>Key priorities</h4><p>Indications that this job is being done successfully would include:</p><ul><li>Greet and monitor all visitors to the West Campus in accordance with Wenona Visitor Guidelines.</li><li>Respond to all incoming calls on a timely basis including effective and sensitive referral to appropriate personnel.</li><li>Maintain a file of school information, including notices, timetables and events in order to easily answer enquiries.</li><li>Maintain a daily record of variation to normal routines for staff and students so that locations can be determined immediately in the event of an emergency.</li><li>Be aware and confident of all emergency procedures and take responsibility for providing visitor information and support as requested by the fire wardens &amp; members of the Leadership team in the event of an emergency. This role may be required to undertake the role of fire warden.</li><li>Provide administrative assistance and additional support, as requested by the Head of Senior College, the EA to Principal and members of the Leadership Team.</li><li>Ensure effective collaboration with other professional services teams and Teaching Staff to support the operations in the West Campus operation.</li><li>Ensure that the reception is not unmanned during its hours of operation, unless pre-approved by your line manager.</li><li>Administer first aid when required.</li><li>Support or relieve within the School Administration Team, as required, to support the broader administration needs of the School.</li><li>Attend and contribute to all staff professional development days and requirements as outlined in the School’s calendar.</li></ul><h4>Education and Experience </h4><ul><li>Strong reception and administration background within a customer centric environment.</li><li>High level of computer literacy and proficiency, including ability to produce complex MS Word documents (mail merge, table of contents), reports in Excel skills, Outlook email and calendar management.</li><li>Experience using a data management system (Synergetic or similar), customer relationship systems and portal/web maintenance.</li><li>HLTAID004 first aid qualification.</li><li>Valid paid NSW Working with Children Check.</li><li>Qualifications in Business Administration or similar are highly desirable.</li></ul><h4>Personal Attributes </h4><ul><li>Demonstrates a calm and patient manner with a good sense of humour when dealing with people, while ensuring high levels of professional and courteous behaviour at all times.</li><li>Excellent phone manner, with demonstrated experience building relationships with a variety of stakeholders.</li><li>Strong organisational abilities, with an exceptional attention to detail, multi-tasking, prioritisation &amp; time management skills.</li><li>Self-starter, with the ability to work effectively in both a team environment and in a remote location with limited supervision.</li><li>Ability to cope calmly and capably with time pressures and a competing and varied workload.</li><li>Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills with a high level of accuracy.</li><li>High respect for tact, discretion and confidentiality at all levels of contact with community and staff.</li><li>Creativity and a sense of humour.</li></ul><h4>General Conditions of the Role </h4><ul><li><b>Hours of work:</b> The Miller St reception is open Tuesday to Friday from 8am to 5pm during term and non-term time. Changes to these hours may be required depending on the needs of the students and the School.
