We have a reputation for academic success, stemming from a culture where students, parents, and teachers work together.</p><p>The Science Laboratory Assistant works closely with the Science Coordinator to ensure the smooth running of the Science Faculty.</p><p>Duties include:</p><ul><li>Prepare and maintain accurate laboratory records in accordance with file maintenance procedures</li><li>Maintain regular communication with Science department and Work Health and Safety Officer to maintain laboratory compliance</li><li>Preparation and clean-up of equipment used by teachers in practical classes</li><li>Preparation and clean-up of dilute solutions e.g. acids from concentrated bulk solutions, solutions from powders/solids</li><li>Prepare, maintain (includes ordering of required stock), organise, set-up and dismantle equipment and materials for routine experiments or student projects and dispose of waste materials as appropriate</li><li>Preparation and labelling of chemicals according to current protocols, including currency of MSDS</li><li>Ensuring adherence of the laboratory to safety and chemical legislative requirements</li><li>Provide effective assistance and practical support to Science Department Teaching staff, when required</li></ul><p>The successful applicant will have:<br /></p><ul><li>A demonstrated interest in boy’s education.<br /></li><li>A strong commitment to the Catholic life and values of the College as lived out in the Patrician Charism.<br /></li><li>Appropriate qualifications</li><li>Current First Aid Certificate</li></ul><p>Applicants for this position are asked to ensure the following documentation is submitted by the due date via email to:  sharon.gollan&#64;syd.catholic.edu.au<br /></p><p>1.  Letter addressed to the Principal, outlining reasons for your interest in the position.</p><p>2.  A current Curriculum Vitae including experience, qualification, Working with Children Check and at least two referees.</p><p>Closing date:  3:00pm Friday 22 October 2021</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /> <br /></p><br />
