St Benedict's Primary School, Edgeworth is seeking a permanent part time (0.15 FTE) Teacher Librarian to join the team for 2022. Teacher Librarians support and implement a shared vision for their school community to achieve best practice in learning. Within a contemporary learning environment, the role of a Teacher Librarian has two key dimensions: <br>• teaching and learning <br>• information and resource management At St Benedict's Primary School, Edgeworth, we have a clear vision and purpose to be recognised as a school focusing on high quality teaching and learning. Our ultimate aim is to provide each student with the best education and equip them with skills to adapt and flourish within a constantly changing world. <p> All teachers will be expected to meet the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST) required by NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). The Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle is committed to safeguarding children, preventing those in our care from suffering abuse or neglect. The Diocese is committed to being compliant with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards. All employees are required to undergo a National Police Check, retain a valid NSW Working with Children Check and ensure compliance with our safeguarding policies, the Diocesan Safeguarding Commitment Statement and the CSO Staff Code of Conduct. </p> <h3>Essential Criteria:</h3> <p> • Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and the mission of the Church through Catholic schools <br>• Demonstrated successful teaching and behaviour management strategies with the ability to plan and evaluate contemporary and innovative learning opportunities in collaboration with teachers <br>• Demonstrated ability to share best practice regarding innovative and emerging technologies and information literacy through the KLAs <br>• Ability to manage a contemporary library space and oversee library personnel, volunteers and external providers <br>• Ability to effectively utilise data to assess and provide feedback and optimise educational outcomes,and source an engaging and relevant physical and virtual collection The applicant must provide evidence of the following: <br>• Four-year trained teacher classification with at least five years successful teaching experience <br>• Postgraduate qualification in Library and Information Management or Teacher Librarianship or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience: Master of Applied Science (Teacher Librarianship), Master of Education (Teacher Librarianship) or Master of Information Services (Teacher Librarian) <br>• Active NESA Accreditation <br>• Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number <br>• Completion of anaphylaxis training <br>• Proof of double Covid-19 vaccination </p> <h3>Desirable Criteria:</h3> <p> • A sound knowledge of ALICE/OLIVER library software </p> <h3>Renumeration:</h3> <p> Salary is in accordance with the NSW &amp; ACT Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2020. </p> <h3>Additional Info:</h3> <p> To Apply: • Please provide a cover letter (maximum 3 pages) addressing the selection criteria along with your resume and directly to mark.hornby-howell@mn.catholic.edu.au • Applicants should nominate at least two (2) referees including their contact details, one of whom must be their current principal. • If you are applying as a Graduate Teacher, please provide contact details for your most recent Supervising Teacher.
