<p><b><i>About Our School</i></b></p><p>St Joseph&#39;s Catholic Primary is a co-educational K-6 school located in the diverse, multicultural community of Belmore in South West Sydney. It was opened by the Sisters of St Joseph in 1921 to serve the educational needs of the local community. As we celebrate 100 years of education, we look forward to a bright future with our soon to be completed extensive refurbishment, new uniform and focus on learning.<br /></p><p>We are a community with a strong faith tradition. Teaching and learning is at St Joseph&#39;s is contemporary and focuses on student growth. Our school vision statement &#34;Growing Together - I See, I Care, I Can&#34; is inspired by the Sisters of St Joseph saying &#34;Never see a need without doing something about it&#34;.</p><p><i>About You:</i></p><p>We invite positive and forward-thinking educators to join St Joseph&#39;s school community on a full-time, temporary contract commencing Friday 28 January 2022. The preferred applicant will demonstrate the following criteria:<br /></p><p><br /></p><ul><li>a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic school within the broader Catholic Church</li><li>an ability to lead learning and foster innovation and creativity in a collaborative environment</li><li>a commitment to academic excellence and a sound knowledge of contemporary approaches to pedagogy, including the nature of assessment</li><li>commitment to a learning culture of shared responsibility for quality teaching and student learning growth, informed by data</li><li>a working knowledge and understanding of education appropriate for the stage/s for which this role is responsible</li><li>a comprehensive understanding of NESA requirements</li><li>highly developed interpersonal skills, demonstrating an ability to effectively communicate with parents, students and staff</li><li>the capacity to empower students to be independent and creative learners</li><li>a willingness to be involved in the extra-curricular life of the school</li><li>The preferred applicant should also demonstrate the following qualities:</li></ul><p><br /></p><ul><li>minimum two years teaching experience (preferred but not essential)</li><li>strong verbal and written communication skills</li><li>ability to work collaboratively in a team environment</li><li>Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)</li><li>Sydney Catholic Schools’ employment number is desirable but not essential.</li></ul>
