As a member of the Pastoral team, the College Counsellor will have responsibility for the wellbeing of students and will assist staff and parents in their care.

<p>This is a <b>temporary, part-time position for Terms 1 - 4 2022 [0.6FTE – 3 days per week (negotiable)]</b>.</p><p>Brigidine College St Ives is a Catholic Independent girls’ school situated on Sydney’s North Shore. A dynamic and supportive staff with a strong focus on professional learning makes Brigidine a workplace of choice. </p><p><b>About the Position</b></p><p>The College seeks to appoint a Counsellor who is committed to supporting and improving the welfare of young people. The College supports the wellbeing of students through a proactive and supportive counselling service. The Counsellor will work with a small counselling team and be a part of the Pastoral team of the College. </p><p> </p><p>The successful applicant will </p><p>• have a shared responsibility for the general wellbeing of students </p><p>• have effective communication and interpersonal skills to enable interaction and communication with students, staff, parents and external support services </p><p>• be a member of the Pastoral team and be involved in planning a scope and sequence of programs that prioritise the wellbeing of young people </p><p>• have an understanding of current issues affecting adolescent girls </p><p>• have experience facilitating proactive and preventative practices and initiatives that promote social, emotional and educational development and the mental health and wellbeing of all students. Whilst experience working in a school is not essential it would be considered an advantage. </p><p><b>Essential Criteria</b><br /></p><p>• eligibility for registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA and be eligible for membership of the Australian Psychological Society or as a Counsellor with an equivalent professional body such as PACFA (clinical member) or ACA with accreditation and experience of a minimum Level 3, or equivalent<br /></p><p>• demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current child protection legislation and the responsibilities and legislation connected with this field of care in an educational setting </p><p>• experience working with adolescents, preferably in an educational context </p><p><b>How to Apply</b><br /></p><p>A Working With Children Check is required before commencing employment.<br /></p><p>A position description for College Psychologist/Counsellor is available on the College website at <a href="http://www.brigidine.nsw.edu.au" rel="nofollow">www.brigidine.nsw.edu.au</a> .
