<ul><li>Teaching and learning that engages, educates and excites!</li><li>Supportive staff and school community</li><li>Opportunity to implement further co-curricular sporting opportunities</li><li>Situatuated on the gorgeous Redcliffe Peninsula (Moreton Bay) with a lifestyle that is well suited for work, living and play.</li></ul><p><b>About Our School</b></p><p>Grace Lutheran Primary School is a great little stand-alone primary school on the Redcliffe Peninsula.  We are well established school who is celebrating our 50th anniversary this year.  Our school is co-educational and is owned and operated by the Lutheran Church of Australia (Queensland District).  We are open to persons who support the philosophy of the school, without discrimination as to class, race or belief.  </p><p>Engage, Educate, Excite drives everything that we do.  We are well known for our supportive caring community, strong development of literacy and numeracy skills, our growing sporting programs and competition, and our thriving performing arts opportunities.  We believe that little people can achieve great things.  We set our standards high and strive to develop independence, inquiry and initiative in our learners.  <br /></p><p>Grace Primary has beautiful modern facilities and is a well established and resourced school of around 400 students (P-6).  We have a strong relationship with Grace Lutheran College, Rothwell (Yrs 7-12).<br /></p><p><b>About the Role</b><br /></p><p>We are seeking a driven and passionate PE Teacher to commence at the beginning of the 2022 school year.  Each class receives a 40 minute lesson from the PE teacher.  The PE teacher is responsible for implementing the Movement and Physical Activity strand of the Australian HPE curriculum.  Class teachers teach the Personal, Social and Community Health strand through their transdisciplinary inquiry units.  In 2022, we will have 19 classes from Prep - Year 6.  We are currently building a Early Learning Centre, so there is opporutnity to develop physical literacy skills with our future kindy students.</p><p>In addition to teaching students PE, the role includes planning and managing sporting events and opportunities such as sporting carnivals, swimming lessons, co-curricular sporting opportunities etc.<br /></p><p>Our school was an inaugural member of NISSA (Norther Independent Schools Sporting Association).  This association now includes five independent schools that compete in friendly competition for Year 4 - 6 Interschool Sport, and NISSA carnivals for athletics, swimming and cross country.  <br /></p><p>Our school also participates in sporting events at District and InterLutheran level.<br /></p><p>It is expected that three days per week will be teaching days, with the other two days a week will be for managing and driving sporting opportunities and programs across the school. <br /></p><p>The role requires passion, drive and initiative to implement new sporting opportunities for students and allow Sport to continue to grow and thrive within our school community.<br /></p><p><b>Experience</b><br /></p><p>Graduate or early career teachers are encouraged to apply.  Experienced teachers will also be considered.</p><p>Actively supporting the Lutheran ethos of the school and striving to make learning engaging and exciting for students is essential. <br /></p><p><b>How to Apply</b><br /></p><p>To apply for the position, please forward your resume with a cover letter to careers&#64;glps.qld.edu.au</p><p>Applications need to be received on or before Sunday 31 October.<br /></p>
