<p><b>The Role</b></p><p>EdAssist is a state government initiative designed to support students whose learning has been disrupted as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. </p><p>The initiative builds on the success of 2021 and is expanding into 2022 to support students during the 2022 school year. Assistance in Literacy and Numeracy will be offered to students in years 5 to 12 , Monday to Thursday. </p><p>De La Salle College is currently hiring multiple tutors to work in this program. </p><p><b>A Tutor will: </b></p><ul><li>Possess excellent communication skills and have a proven proficiency in either Literacy or Numeracy or both </li><li>Examine student data and implement targeted learning strategies </li><li>Work with students in small targeted groups encouraging conceptual understanding of key Literacy and Numeracy skills </li><li>Build a positive relationship with students to better understand their interests, current levels of engagement and motivation; </li><li>Monitor student progress and communicate periodically with the relevant College personnel. </li><li>be a teacher who is registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) or has Permission to Teach from VIT; OR </li><li>be a pre-service teacher, with specific conditions in place; and </li></ul><p><b>Working at De La Salle College </b></p><p>De La Salle College is a warm and welcoming community. </p><p>The College has a range of staff benefits including: </p><ul><li>Central location </li><li>7 weeks annual leave </li><li>College Laptop </li><li>Professional learning opportunities </li><li>Collegial and supportive work environment </li></ul><p>Applicants are expected to fully support the Catholic and Lasallian ethos of the College and the safety and wellbeing of children.
