Located in the heart of Ballarat’s Central Business District, Catholic Education Ballarat (CEB) currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate HRM professional to join the business as the Manager: Human Resources.
<p>Diocese of Ballarat Catholic Education Limited (DOBCEL) was created as the governing body for Catholic schools in the Ballarat Diocese. DOBCEL and its administrative arm, Catholic Education Ballarat (CEB) work together to support our Primary and Secondary schools, to promote Catholic identity, deliver quality learning, provide effective stewardship and nurture respectful and trusting relationships with the community. The Diocese of Ballarat includes 64 diverse primary and secondary schools in total, providing Catholic education in rural and regional settings from the Murray to the Sea covering Victoria’s western wedge.

</p><p>Reporting to the Assistant Director People and Development and with responsibility for two direct reports, the Manager: Human Resources provides high quality and responsive employee relations advice to CEB and school leadership teams throughout the diocese.
</p><p>As a trusted subject matter expert, providing guidance to our leaders across a wide range of Human Resources/Employee Relations matters, you will design and lead people centred practices aimed at building an organisation with careful attention to human dignity and the whole person.

</p><p><b>The Right Person
</b></p><p>• Tertiary Qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or other relevant discipline
</p><p>• Previous experience in Human Resources Manager role, including demonstrated experience in Employee Relations, Industrial Relations and Workplace Health and Safety
</p><p>• Initiates and manages continuous development to deliver efficiency and process improvements
</p><p>• Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of employee statutory requirements, stays abreast of legislation/regulatory changes and latest trends in best practice Human Resources Management
</p><p>• Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills with all people at all levels, internally and externally
</p><p>• Effective planning and project management skills to realise intended benefit and meet budget and deadlines
</p><p>• Fosters collaboration with the broader team to provide seamless HR experience for all employees
</p><p>• Demonstrates a natural passion for and desire to lead, coach, guide and mentor people
</p><p>• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
</p><p>• Current Victorian or National Police Check and Working with Children Check (if not VIT registered)
</p><p>• Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
</p><p><b>Key Selection Criteria (To be addressed in written application)
</b></p><p>• Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary ER and HR practices, legislation and industrial instruments, and the ability to apply this knowledge to the provision of sound ER advice and services
</p><p>• Highly solution focused using creative ways to problem solve and continuously improve processes and procedures
</p><p>• Excellent planning and project management skills, including the ability to construct sound business cases, reports, project plans and a range of communication documents
</p><p>• Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and to work well within a team of professionals
