The Central Coast Steiner School is seeking applicants for a Learning Support Assistant – Special Needs commencing Term 1, 2022. We are a thriving school set on the beautiful Central Coast with around 300 students from Early Kindergarten to Year 10. This is a part time position of 20 hours across 5 mornings a week.

<p>The Central Coast Steiner School is seeking applicants for a Learning Support Assistant – Special Needs commencing Term 1, 2022. We are a thriving school set on the beautiful Central Coast with around 300 students from Early Kindergarten to Year 10. This is a part time position across 5 mornings a week.<br /></p><p> </p><p>The successful applicant will be required to assist in the implementation of specialised individual programs. They will be able to apply their knowledge and skills acquired through previous experience to assist students with disabilities and/or special needs on an individual basis. <br /></p><p>Applicants will preferably have expertise and qualifications in meeting special needs and supporting children with disabilities. Applicants will also need to possess exceptional teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills to provide support to parents, teachers and health professionals.<br /></p><p>Key Selection Criteria:</p><ul><li>Certificate III or above in Education Support (CHC30213) or equivalent would be preferred </li><li>Experience and/or qualifications in working with children with disabilities </li><li>A sound understanding of the NSW Australian curriculum for ES1-2. </li><li>A high level of competence in supporting teachers in making adjustments for students </li><li>A sound understanding of curriculum differentiation </li><li>Ability to assist teachers/wellbeing officer/allied staff in implementing and evaluating special education programs </li><li>Excellent standards in literacy and numeracy </li><li>Excellent command of spoken English </li><li>Ability to take initiative and be flexible </li><li>Experience in professional roles which require a positive rapport with children </li><li>Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate well with colleagues </li><li>Understanding of the principles and practices of Steiner education </li></ul><p>The successful candidate must also provide a Working with Children Clearance and evidence of Covid-19 vaccination prior to commencing.<br /></p><p>Applicants must address Key Selection Criteria in their application and submit it along with a cover letter, resume and copies of qualifications.
