The applicant must demonstrate the ability to build a culture of success and enjoyment within students and the wider music department and be committed to professional development. </p><p><b><br /></b></p><p><b>Responsibilities of the role will include: </b></p><ul><li>Conducting a variety of string ensembles as required, undertaking essential administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of the ensembles </li><li>Choosing, arranging, preparing and organising materials to facilitate motivation, enjoyment and learning for each student in a variety of string ensembles </li><li>Assisting in a variety of string ensembles </li><li>Participating in rehearsals, concerts, workshops and Music camps </li><li>Preparing for and teaching individual and/or group lessons within the school </li><li>Monitoring, recording and reporting verbally, in written form and using technology, on the continuous progress of each student </li><li>Utilising appropriate technology to enhance teaching and learning </li><li>Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, student performance and progress </li><li>Working in a team in a vibrant Music Department </li></ul><p><br /></p><p><b>About You </b></p><p><b>To be successful in this position, it is essential that you have: </b></p><ul><li>Relevant tertiary music and/or music education degree</li><li>Proven expertise and an innovative and engaging approach to string teaching</li><li>An in-depth knowledge of the AMEB syllabus from beginner to advanced grades (violin, viola or violoncello)</li><li>A thorough knowledge of the VCE syllabus (violin, viola or violoncello)</li><li>Excellent performance and conducting skills</li><li>A dynamic manner, with the ability to relate well to students of all abilities</li><li>Excellent time management and organisational skills (including record-keeping and assessment)</li><li>A commitment to engendering excellence from your students</li><li>A collaborative approach with colleagues in planning and delivering programs</li><li>Proven experience in establishing and fostering relationships with students, staff and parents</li><li>Demonstrated desire to apply a growth mindset to professional development</li></ul><p>A current Teaching Registration (Victorian Institute of Teaching) or Working with Children Check (employee) and current National Criminal Record Check are essential requirements for this role.
