Holy Cross School, Trinity Park is seeking applications for a Teacher- Diversity and Inclusion to join their school community in 2022.

<p><b>Position Details </b></p><ul><li>Part Time Permanent Position</li><li>Possibility for Full Time hours if desired</li><li>Commencing: 15 January 2022</li><li>Applications close: 5pm, Thursday 4 November 2021</li></ul><p><b>Working for Catholic Education - Diocese of Cairns </b></p><p>The Catholic Education Community of the Diocese of Cairns embraces thirty (30) schools including twenty (20) primary schools, two (2) Prep to Year 12 colleges and eight (8) secondary colleges. One of these colleges is a Special Assistance College with campuses in Cairns, Cooktown, and Edmonton. This community also includes Catholic Education Services located in Cairns itself. Over the next five years there are two new schools planned. </p><p><b>Purpose of the Role </b></p><p>Student diversity is valued, and inclusive practices are fundamental to the ethos of Catholic schools. The Teacher (Diversity and Inclusion) works within whole-school initiatives to address the diverse needs of students with extensive needs through a culture of inclusiveness, focusing on the holistic growth and development of each student. The Teacher (Diversity and Inclusion) contributes to the quality of educational outcomes of students with extensive needs enrolled at Holy Cross School. </p><p>As the teacher you will: </p><ul><li>Plan, prepare and deliver effective learning and teaching programs.</li><li>Build the capacity of support staff to deliver effective learning and teaching programs.</li><li>Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive classroom, tutorial rooms and sensory garden.</li></ul><p>The Teacher (Diversity and Inclusion) also fulfils the following roles: </p><ul><li>Works closely with the Learning Support Teacher to plan and implement teaching and learning strategies and programs that identify and respond to the individual needs of students.</li><li>Liaise with visiting specialists, including therapists and Inclusive Education Teachers.</li><li>Communicates with parents as key partners in the educational outcomes of students.</li><li>Communicates regularly with mainstream teachers to provide assistance in supporting students with diverse learning needs.</li><li>Communicates regularly with support staff.</li></ul><p><b>Mandatory Qualifications &amp; Requirements </b></p><ul><li>Professional qualifications in Education</li><li>Registered or eligible to register with Queensland College of Teachers</li><li>Willingness to achieve Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School and Accreditation to Teach Religion in a Catholic School (Teachers of Religious Education)</li><li>Willingness to support and participate in the prayer, liturgy and sacramental life of the Church in the school community</li><li>Promote child safety at all times</li><li>Capacity to understand and implement Duty of Care and Workplace Health and Safety requirements.</li><li>Current drivers licence</li><li>A strong demonstrated commitment to the objectives, vision and ethos of Catholic Education</li></ul><p><b>How to Apply </b></p><p>For further information and an application pack, please visit our website https://www.cns.catholic.edu.au/employment/ </p><p>Applications close: 5pm, 5pm, Thursday 4 November 2021 </p><p><i>Catholic Education is an equal opportunity employer. </i></p><p><i>Intending applicants must be fully committed to creating and maintaining a child safe organisation.</i></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
