<p><b>About the role:</b></p><p>The Instructional Specialist role supports a full-time classroom teacher with release of 0.5FT to carry out the instructional specialist component of the role. The teacher will need to be performing at the level of an exemplary classroom practitioner working towards Lead Teacher or Highly Accomplished teaching standards. They will model classroom practitioner excellence to improve learning outcomes and bring about change in the instruction of teachers K-6. The Instructional Specialist is a member of the school senior leadership team - Coordinator 3.</p><p><b>Commencement Date: </b>January 2022</p><p><b>Applications to be emailed to the Principal:</b> zeina.chalich&#64;syd.catholic.edu.au</p><p><b>Closing Date for application:</b> 5 November 2021</p><p><b>The Instructional Specialist is required to perform tasks that include but are not limited to:</b></p><ul><li>Strong teaching capability proven through meeting all aspects of the proficient teacher in the Australian Professional Standards and operating at the level of a highly accomplished/lead teacher in accordance with the NESA teaching standards (although they may not formally hold this accreditation).</li></ul><ul><li>Demonstrating exemplary classroom teaching practice in their own classroom teaching (0.5FTE).</li></ul><ul><li>Setting standards, building teacher capacity (with extra focus on early career teachers) and supporting school-wide improvement.</li></ul><ul><li>Support and demonstrate high impact teaching strategies (HITS) used by teachers to craft lessons that provide the right amount of support and challenge for every student.</li></ul><ul><li>Understand and implement high quality, evidence-based instruction that meets students&#39; needs within their zone of proximal learning development and has clear SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-based) goals.</li></ul><ul><li>Coach, mentor and model excellent teaching practice to peer teachers within the school in English</li></ul><ul><li>Demonstrate High Impact Leadership Strategies (HILS) to guide and influence change in teacher practice and improve student outcomes.</li></ul><ul><li>Analyse data and trends within the school to identify areas for growth.</li></ul><ul><li>Strong capabilities to lead adult learning (including emotional intelligence).</li></ul><ul><li>Developing future Instructional Specialists.</li></ul><ul><li>Work as a member of the school&#39;s Leadership team, contributing to all school initiatives and supporting a positive professional learning culture </li></ul><p><b>Application Process</b></p><p>To apply for this acting position (three-year position), please submit a one-page covering letter in response to this advertisement and attach an updated resume addressed to the Principal, Zeina Chalich</p><p><b>Working with Children Check </b></p><p>This role is classified as child-related work and therefore we require a working with children clearance to be completed prior to your commencement with us.</p>
