<ul><li>Full Time Permanent Role </li><li>Campbelltown or Fairfield Location </li><li>Commencing Term 1, 2022 </li></ul><p>Warakirri College offers Year 10 and HSC courses to young people 15-22 who have disconnected from mainstream educational pathways, but who now want to complete their education in a safe and inclusive context. </p><p>Due to the strong growth in student numbers at all campuses, Warakirri College is seeking to appoint a full-time permanent School Counsellor at our Campbelltown or Fairfield Campus. With very small classes, a flexible adult learning environment and a happy team of dedicated professionals the school supports young people facing social disadvantage in Fairfield, Blacktown and our new campus in Campbelltown. </p><p><b>About the Role </b></p><p>We seek a proactive and motivated Counsellor to join our team. This is your opportunity to make an impact in the lives of our students and to promote student wellbeing through counselling, organising support, teaching life skills, liaising with other community organisations and health professionals. The ability to conduct cognitive and behavioural tests would be an advantage. </p><p><b>The successful candidate will be: </b></p><ul><li>Able to effectively work with young people who have faced social or emotional challenges; </li><li>Have high level judgment, flexibility and foresight to anticipate, prioritise and resolve issues in line with College requirements and student needs; </li><li>Highly developed negotiation and influencing skills; </li><li>Able to maintain a stable performance under pressure and in challenging situations </li><li>Able to forge effective professional relationships with colleagues and students. </li></ul><p><b>Essential to the role: </b></p><ul><li>Relevant Tertiary qualifications ie. Psychology, or Counselling </li><li>Understanding of youth issues in alternative education </li><li>High level written, oral and interpersonal communication skills </li><li>Highly developed relationship management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, students and parents at multiple levels and varied backgrounds </li><li>Excellent planning and organisational skills and be self-motivated </li><li>Excellent listening skills and the ability to deal with continuous change </li><li>Ability to work within a highly compliant and regulated environment </li></ul><p><b>How to Apply </b></p><p>Applications are being reviewed as they are received, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible with a resume and cover letter. </p><p><i>Warakirri College takes all reasonable measures to protect the safety and wellbeing of children and other vulnerable communities.
