Champagnat Catholic College is seeking a qualified and experienced English Additional Language Dialect teacher to join the College to work with our students. The load will include one English class. This is a contract position commencing in 2022 and will be ongoing subject to funding.

<p><b>Essential Criteria: </b></p><p>The successful applicant will: </p><ul><li>have a commitment to Catholic education, a clear understanding of the vision and mission of Catholic Schools, and a willingness to support the faith formation of students </li><li>possess relevant qualifications (TESOL) to teach English as an additional language </li><li>have an understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of students from a language background other than English </li><li>provide in-class support for students with EAL/D needs </li><li>develop an explicit EAL/D program that meets the needs of the College&#39;s priority EAL/D students </li><li>will work in collaboration with teachers and relevant curriculum/pedagogy leaders to meet the learning needs of EAL/D students 7-12 </li><li>have an understanding of the system&#39;s position around EAL/D as outlined in the SCS EAL/D K-12 Position Paper and the SCS EAL/D Equity Loading Paper </li><li>manage and update data collection in relation to EAL/D </li><li>be a passionate educator who values and is active in their own professional learning journey </li><li>possess highly developed interpersonal skills demonstrating an ability to effectively communicate with parents, students and staff </li><li>have an ability to critically reflect on their own teaching practice </li><li>show a willingness to be involved in the College&#39;s co-curricular activities</li></ul><p> Teachers wishing to teach in the Sydney Catholic Schools&#39; system need to complete the &#39;Registration to Teach&#39; process to be eligible for a teaching position and have a current Working With Children Check approval number.</p>
