You will be responsible for fostering academic excellence, creating a dynamic learning environment and growing each child to be engaged, focused and an independent learner whilst providing the highest level of pastoral care.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">A sound understanding of and commitment to the Church’s mission in Catholic Education and the capacity to contribute to the spiritual and community life of the school.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">A thorough knowledge of the Australian Curriculum with the ability to organise, select and design content for effective teaching and learning.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills so as to engage positively with colleagues, students and parents.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">The capacity to be a proactive member of a professional learning community complying with the legal, administrative and professional requirements.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Classroom practices and organisational skills that create supportive and safe environments for all students, including meeting a variety of learning needs.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">A comprehensive understanding of assessment and reporting strategies and the need to provide effective and timely feedback to parents and students.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Knowledge of St Vincent’s vision for learning; inclusive of our Challenging learning approach and dispositions used to engage student learning.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif"> Demonstrate an understanding of the system initiative, ‘Catalyst’, and the science of learning.<br><br></span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif"> <em>Please refer to the role description for an in-depth detail regarding criteria and skill set required.<br><br></em></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt"><em><strong>Please note:</strong> This position involves work in an ACT school.&nbsp; The appointment of successful applicants is subject to compliance with Public Health (ACT School or Early Childhood Education and Care Workers COVID-19 Vaccination) Emergency Direction 2021. Individuals who are appointed to a position in a ACT school are required to have either received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine, or have obtained an approved medical contraindication certificate.
