<p>As part of St Patrick’s College’s overall commitment to the education of every child, the school has developed a strong Diverse Learning Team that offers support in both the junior and senior years. Specialist teachers and Learning Support Officers assist students with diverse learning needs across all Key Learning Areas enabling students to access the curriculum and to achieve to the best of their ability. </p><p><b>Permanent full-time and part-time (0.6 FTE to 0.8 FTE) positions commencing 27 January 2022. </b></p><p>We have a number of positions available for experienced Learning Support Officers to join the Diverse Learning Team. </p><p><b>Key Duties </b></p><ul><li>Providing of in-class support for teachers and their and students with learning needs </li><li>Supporting and supervising students with additional learning needs in and out of the classroom environment </li><li>Facilitating the remedial reading program (MacqLit) </li><li>Assisting with data collection and maintenance for legislative compliance (NCCD) </li><li>Administrative tasks in support of NCCD and disability provisions </li><li>Input into the planning and implementation of Personal Learning Plans </li><li>Collaborating with classroom teachers to ensure the inclusion of all students in all learning experiences </li><li>Applying appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive learning environment </li></ul><p>To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate you satisfy all the following essential selection criteria: </p><p><b>Essential Criteria </b></p><ul><li>A working understanding of, and commitment to, the Catholic ethos of a school in the Edmund Rice tradition </li><li>Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice </li><li>Certificate IV or other relevant qualifications in Educational Support or working towards completion of these </li><li>Experience working with class teachers to plan for and support students with additional learning needs </li><li>Experience delivering evidence-based learning intervention programs for students with a specific range of learning support needs including cognitive, sensory, physical and social/emotional disabilities. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff including the use of appropriate interpersonal skills </li><li>Have demonstrated experience with use of ICT equipment and systems in an education context </li><li>Ability to collaborate and work effectively as a member of a team </li></ul><p><b>How to apply </b></p><p>To express your interest in joining our highly motivated professional staff, apply via the online ‘Career Application’ available on our website <a href="https://www.spc.nsw.edu.au/working-spc/" rel="nofollow">https://www.spc.nsw.edu.au/working-spc/</a> </p><p>Your application should consist of: </p><p><b>1.Cover letter</b> (maximum 2 pages) that highlights your claim for the role and demonstrates your suitability by addressing the following two target questions: </p><p><b>(a) </b>Outline your knowledge of current best practice in Learning Support including current issues in inclusive education. </p><p><b>(b)</b> How would you work collaboratively with College staff and members of the wider community in order to establish productive partnerships and achieve educational outcomes? </p><p><b>2.Current CV</b> (maximum 5 pages) outlining your qualifications, experience and skills together with the contact information for three (3) referees (at least two must be from your current employer). </p><p>All applications should be addressed to The Principal (MS Word and PDF attachments are preferred). </p><p>Essential to this position is a commitment to the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition together with a commitment to the safety, wellbeing and dignity of all children and young people. </p><p>Evidence of a valid WWCC clearance and compliance with the current Public Health (COVID-19 Vaccination of Education and Care Workers) Order 2021 will be required prior to employment. </p><p>St Patrick’s College is a child safe and child-centred organisation, committed to the protection of children and has zero-tolerance of any abuse of children.
