<p>We are seeking an innovative and energetic Learning Support Officer for this part-time (43hrs per fortnight - Monday, Thursday &amp; Friday) temporary position for the entire academic year in 2022.</p><p><b>Essential criteria for the position are:</b></p><ul><li>Support of the mission, teachings and ethos of the Catholic Church&#39;s work in schools </li><li>Certificate IV in Education Support </li><li>Previous experience in a learning support position across a secondary school </li><li>An understanding of NCCD requirements and adjustments </li><li>Knowledge of effective strategies for teaching literacy and numeracy to small groups of students </li><li>Knowledge of effective strategies to manage a variety of behaviours </li><li>Strong communication skills and able to deal sensitively with students, parent/carers and staff when required </li><li>Independent student supervision in the Diverse Learning Centre </li><li>Ability to assist in the implementation of personal plans for students </li><li>Ability to work with EAL/D students </li><li>Demonstrated proficiency in web-based applications found in the contemporary school setting, such as Google Apps for Education </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team </li><li>Demonstrated ability to follow direction, prioritise and meet deadlines </li><li>Demonstrated interpersonal skills in working with a range of personnel </li><li>Strong planning and organisation skills </li><li>Demonstrated ability to maintain the quality of assigned work </li><li>Current Working With Children Clearance</li></ul><p>Please provide the name and contact details of three referees, two of whom should be your current and immediate past employer. <br /></p><p>Email applications to <a href="mailto:principal&#64;bethanyhurstville.catholic.edu.au" rel="nofollow">principal&#64;bethanyhurstville.catholic.edu.au</a>.</p><p>Sydney Catholic Schools is committed to ensuring the safety of our staff, students and school communities.
