St Joseph's College, Lochinvar is seeking a temporary part time (32 hours per week) School Officer – Finance &amp; Administration to join the school community commencing for Term 1, 2022 and the first four Weeks of Term 2 St Joseph’s College, founded by the Sisters of St Joseph in 1883 is a co-educational secondary school providing a rich and diverse educational experience for 940 students from Years 7 to 12. Located in the stunning Hunter Valley, St Joseph’s has a blend of heritage and modern buildings which include a Chapel &amp; Heritage Centre, new Administration and Resource Centre, a purpose-built hall and associated Café &amp; Hospitality Centre, well equipped, modern Technology/Trade Centre as well as refurbished Performance and Creative Arts spaces. <p> The School Officer – Finance &amp; Administration will: <br>• support the Senior Finance Officer, School Executive and School Staff in the day to day finance and administration tasks associated with the school <br>• ensure that all tasks are completed in an accurate and timely manner to support the financial management of the school. <br>• have the capacity to assist the Senior Finance Officer in processing school finance matters, including the collection of school fees. <br>• demonstrate a strong understanding of financial management tasks, strong attention to detail; the highest degree of confidentiality and a commitment to continuous improvement. <br>• have the capacity to work cooperatively and collaboratively as a member of a team; <br>• have excellent interpersonal and communication skills including a pleasant phone manner; <br>• foster and promote positive personal relationships with all stakeholders The Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle has an abiding commitment to promote the safety, welfare and wellbeing of children and vulnerable adults - particularly those who participate in the life of the Diocese. All employees are required to undergo a National Police Check and, where legislated, hold a Working with Children Check. Diocesan workers are expected to personally adopt and enact the Diocese’s Safeguarding Commitment Statement. </p> <h3>Essential Criteria:</h3> <p> • ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and to actively support the Catholic ethos of the school <br>• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite especially Microsoft Word and Excel; <br>• capacity to complete all purchase orders, process payments, complete banking and cash handling <br>• ability to carry out a diverse range of school administration duties including record management to support the effective functioning of the school <br>• Excellent organisational and time management skills; <br>• Ability to work effectively under pressure and to manage several tasks concurrently; <br>• Capacity to tolerate an interrupted working environment; <br>• Strong attention to detail and high accuracy levels <br>• Knowledge and practical experience with Compass; <br>• Willingness to Comply or Compliance with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy. Category A – Accreditation to Work The applicant must provide evidence of the following: <br>• Current Paid Working with Children Check (WWCC) number; <br>• Completion of Anaphylaxis training. <br>• Proof of Covid vaccination status </p> <h3>Desirable Criteria:</h3> <p> • minimum of two years relevant experience in finance / accounting <br>• practising Catholic </p> <h3>Renumeration:</h3> <p> Salary is in accordance with New South Wales &amp; Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2020.
