<p>St Johns College Dubbo has an exciting and rewarding opportuniy for a male mentor to join our Pastoral Care Team in 2022 as a member of our STEP UP team. STEP UP is an innovative program designed to assist students in fostering strong connections and a sense of belonging at the College through identifying and developing core personal values and realising these values through actions. Our mentors will assist students to engage in:-</p>
<ul>
<li>Educational goal setting and engagement in learning;</li>
<li>Improving executive functioning, time management and organisation;</li>
<li>Managing homework and assessment preparation;</li>
<li>Peer mentoring;</li>
<li>Developing and maintaining respectful relationships with self, peers and adults;</li>
<li>Skills in meaningful self-reflection to promote stronger wellbeing;</li>
<li>Elevating emotional and behavioural self-awareness;</li>
<li>Physical challenges to build resilience, strength and confidence</li>
</ul>
<p>This Part Time Temporary position in 2022 is for <strong>59</strong><strong> hours per fortnight </strong>and will involve one-on-one teacher aide time assisting students in their numeracy and literacy growth. We invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who demonstrate a sincere commitment to the aims and philosophy of Catholic Education and possess the desire to make a difference in the lives of our students.</p>
<p>As a mentor/teacher assistant you will be uniquely placed to make a real difference in the lives of the students you encounter and will be an integral part of the Pastoral Care Team at St Johns College .</p>
<p>If you are self-motivated with a drive to foster positive relationships with students, and support students to achieve success in all areas of learning- spiritually, socially, emotionally, academically and physically then please apply for these rewarding positions.</p>
<p><strong>Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrated experience in student and parent interaction, including the ability to sensitively, positively, confidentially and proactively manage student relationships.</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience in Administrative functions such as phone and email management, preparation of documents and database management.</li>
<li>Experience or a willingness to work with students with additional needs</li>
<li>A proactive and customer service approach to work, and a willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team.</li>
<li>Well-developed written, presentation and interpersonal skills with the capacity to communicate effectively across a range of stakeholders.</li>
</ul>
