Our College has a collaborative approach to teaching and learning with teachers operating in agile professional learning environments.</p> <h4 dir="ltr">Key Accountabilities</h4> <ul> <li dir="ltr">actively live and promote the College Mission, vision and values with a focus on developing responsible Christian learners</li> <li dir="ltr">willingness to adopt a 21st Century Pedagogical approach with an emphasis on the 7Cs (Catholic Worldview; Creativity; Collaboration; Critical Thinking; Connectivity; Culture and Communication)</li> <li dir="ltr">create and maintain safe, inclusive and challenging learning environments and implement fair and equitable behaviour management strategies</li> <li dir="ltr">ensure a contemporary approach to design thinking and fabrication</li> <li dir="ltr">ensure that all undertakings are student-focused</li> <li dir="ltr">ensure there is a strong relationship between the built environment, specifically in collaborative learning spaces, the human domain, contemporary learning and teacher pedagogy</li> <li dir="ltr">ensure that learning and teaching is personalised and that digital technology and other learning tools support students</li> <li dir="ltr">regularly provide students with formative feedback as part of the learning cycle</li> <li dir="ltr">perform other duties that are assigned by the Principal</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Catholic ethos</strong></p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">Be supportive of the ethos of the Catholic Church</li> <li dir="ltr">Participate in staff liturgical and formation opportunities</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Team contribution</strong></p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">Understand and contribute to the delivery and continuous improvement of relevant strategic initiatives and operational plans</li> <li dir="ltr">Deliver and report on day-to-day performance and accountabilities to ensure effective and efficient service delivery</li> <li dir="ltr">Engage in continuous learning and contribute positively to a collaborative and respectful working environment aligned with the culture and values of St Mark’s Catholic College</li> <li dir="ltr">Other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or delegate.</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Key focus areas</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">The Secondary Science Teacher will fit the following criteria:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">Contemporary and authoritative professional knowledge and understanding of the teaching of science and the factors that influence learning and development, effective pedagogies, assessment and reporting, a wide range of resources, including interactive technologies, and their use in teaching and learning</li> <li dir="ltr">Understanding of how to differentiate learning to cater for students needs in order to maximise student learning.</li> <li dir="ltr">Exemplary professional practice which includes building effective relationships and managing complex interactions, creating and maintaining engaging and intellectually challenging and safe learning environments, planning, implementing and evaluating rigorous and inclusive learning programs</li> <li dir="ltr">Use assessments and constructive feedback to inform teaching and learning and communicating effectively with different audiences using a range of strategies</li> <li dir="ltr">Commitment to the continual improvement of their teaching practice and take opportunities for personal professional development.</li> <li dir="ltr">Work creatively and constructively within a range of 'communities' inside and beyond the school and set high, achievable goals for themselves and their students.</li> <li dir="ltr">Exhibit personal approaches characterised by caring and respect for others.</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Risk and Compliance</strong></p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">Contribute and adhere to policies and processes of St Mark’s Catholic College as a learning community within the CEDP network of schools</li> <li dir="ltr">Identify and report risks and where possible propose appropriate mitigation strategies</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>The Organisation</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 83 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment including the completion of a National Police Check, retention of a valid Working with Children Check and adoption and compliance with CEDP’s Child Safeguarding Procedures and Code of Conduct When Working With Students and Children.</p> <p dir="ltr">CEDP promotes the safety and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, and children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds.
