Mackillop College Werribee is seeking a suitably qualified Risk and Compliance Manager to take on this fast-paced and dynamic role.

<p><b>Risk and Compliance Manager </b></p><p>The Risk and Compliance Manager plays a pivotal role in improving and overseeing risk and compliance across the College. This person manages the day-to-day operations of risk mitigation and policy and procedures development, ensuring that the College meets its compliance and assurance obligations as determined by the relevant external organisations. These organisations include Catholic Education Commission of Victoria (CECV), Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS), Victorian Registrations and Qualifications Authority (VRQA), and the Department of Education and Training (DET). </p><p>The Risk and Compliance Manager works closely with all teaching and educational support staff, ensuring that the College meets its governance obligations.</p><p><b> The role of the Risk and Compliance Manager is to: </b></p><p>• prepare regular reports for the Principal and Leadership Team on compliance and risk management </p><p>• keep up-to-date on legal and/or regulatory changes that may impact the College and ensure policies and procedures are compliant with current legislation </p><p>• investigate and provide direction in all compliance related matters and ensure that the College is compliant in all areas </p><p>• assists with external safety audits (WorkSafe Inspectors), notify WorkSafe of reportable incidents </p><p>• take responsibility for the central administration and management of the College’s Complispace software (i.e., PolicyConnect, Assurance, CompliLearn) and ensure that it is effectively and efficiently implemented </p><p>• work with relevant Deputy Principal(s) to ensure MACS policy changes and updates are reviewed, personalised using PolicyConnect and MACS resources </p><p>• ensure that all policies and procedures meet the VRQA minimum standards and are appropriately documented </p><p>• develop, review and update compliance, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and risk management policies and procedures </p><p>• ensure policy documentation (policy, practise and procedures) is regularly reviewed by relevant stakeholders and once ratified is published appropriately </p><p>• in conjunction with the relevant Deputy Principal(s), provide: </p><p>o staff with training associated with risk, compliance and WHS (e.g., emergency procedures training) as required </p><p>o new staff with appropriate induction materials </p><p>o assist staff in the development of risk assessments for activities (e.g., camps, retreats, excursions, outdoor education experiences, overseas trips) and review assessments prior to sign-off </p><p>o input on policy changes as appropriate </p><p>• work with the relevant Deputy Principal(s) to review the College’s current Child Safety practices against legislative requirements and development of recommendations. Ensure compliance with ensuring child safety standards and assist in guiding a child safe organisation </p><p>• provide expert WHS advice strategically and operationally whilst contributing and implementing WHS initiatives </p><p>• conduct WHS and risk assessments and reviews </p><p>• manage and maintain accurate staff learning modules through CompliLearn and other platforms as appropriate. Record and ensure the compliance training by staff has been completed (e.g., Mandatory Reporting, Child Protection, Asthma and Anaphylaxis, WHS, Bullying and Harassment) </p><p>• maintains the College’s Risk Register and provide input on risk issues as well as provide advice to stakeholders concerning overall risk </p><p>• deliver risk management training as required and appropriate (i.e., ensure Safe Working Method Statements (SWMS) are prepared, reviewed and used by staff and contractors as part of creating and culture of workplace safety </p><p>• attend the OH&amp;S committee meetings in an advisory role </p><p>• liaise with the Property Manager to ensure the cyclical compliance ‘Maintenance Schedule’ is adhered to, including but not limited to the ‘Tag &amp; Testing’ program, Asbestos management etc. </p><p>• review and advise on operational risks at the College in conjunction with other staff members and external consultants, as required </p><p>• ensure updated management of the College’s Emergency Management Plan/Procedures, including training, regular emergency evacuations and the follow up review of the processes </p><p>• establish, develop and maintain records of site induction of contractors, consultants, etc </p><p>• oversee the implementation and use of the following compliance-based systems: </p><p>o Chemwatch </p><p>o WorkSafe Guardian </p><p><br /></p><p><b>The successful applicants will: </b></p><p>• have appropriate experience and qualifications </p><p>• have a current Working With Children Check and National Police Record Check </p><p>• be supportive of the philosophy of Catholic education </p><p>• be able to provide care and support for students whilst supporting and respecting the ethos of the school and its environment. </p><p>This position will be a Category A School Services Officer and remunerated as per the Victorian Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2013. </p><p><br /></p><p><b>Your application must contain: </b></p><p>• The prescribed Application for Employment Form </p><p>• Curriculum Vitae </p><p><b>The prescribed Employment Application Form can be accessed via our webpage at </b><a href="http://mackillopwerribee.com.au/information/employment/" rel="nofollow">http://mackillopwerribee.com.au/information/employment/</a></p><p><b><br /></b></p><p><b> </b></p><p>Applications must be forwarded no later than <b>10 am</b> on <b>Monday 13 December 2021</b> to:</p><p> </p><p>The Principal<br />MacKillop College<br />PO Box 522, WERRIBEE VIC, 3030<br />Tel: (03) 8734 5200<br />Email: <a href="mailto:employment&#64;mackillop.vic.edu.au" rel="nofollow">employment&#64;mackillop.vic.edu.au</a></p><p><br /></p><p> </p><p><i>The MacKillop College community promotes the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children.</i></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
