Applications are invited from people with a passion for leading effective teaching, learning and wellbeing for students with diverse abilities. This is a full time permanent two (2) point coordinator position with a substantial release from face-to-face teaching commencing 21 February 2022 or by negotiation with the Principal.

<div>The role of the Head of Diverse Learning is integral to both the academic and pastoral welfare of the students of Brigidine College. The Head of Diverse Learning is responsible for leading, coordinating and building the capacity of the Diverse Learning team in Gifted and Talented, Special Needs, ESL and Literacy and Numeracy. </div><div><br /></div><div>In working closely with the Heads of Department, the Head of Diverse Learning will facilitate the ongoing development of teaching and learning programs at the College to ensure effective differentiation.  <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>The Head of Diverse Learning is responsible to the:</div><ul><li>Principal</li><li>Assistant Principal</li><li>Director of Learning &amp; Innovation</li><li>Director of Curriculum</li><li>Director of Pastoral Care</li></ul><div>    </div><div><b>Role Responsibilities</b></div><div>     </div><div>The specific responsibilities of the Head of Diverse Learning include:</div><div>     </div><ul><li>Identifying the diverse needs of new students as they transition into the College and gathering relevant information from parents and previous schools       </li><li>Developing and supporting processes to identify particular needs of current students      </li><li>Overseeing development and implementation of individual collaborative plans for students with special needs       </li><li>Liaising with external agencies/resources as necessary to meet individual student needs (e.g. speech pathologist, counsellor)      </li><li>Work with the Futures Coordinator to assist students to transition from school to post-school pathways (e.g. TAFE, traineeships, work).  </li><li>Coordinating the application and implementation of Special Provisions for students with special needs      </li><li>Creating partnership with parents through effective communication and development of collaborative plans      </li><li>Raising awareness of staff regarding effective teaching and learning strategies for all students (including students with low levels of literacy, ESL students and, Gifted and Talented students)       </li><li>Working with teachers to appropriately differentiate teaching programs, assessments and resources so that the needs of all students are met.</li></ul><div>                   </div><div><b>Key Selection Criteria:</b></div><div>The successful Head of Diverse Learning portrays the following:</div><ul><li>An Educational Philosophy which clearly articulates the many facets of what it is to be a diverse learner. </li><li>An ability to coordinate the individual planning process, including regular consultation with teachers, students and parents/guardians</li><li>An ability to liaise with Sydney Catholic Schools in areas such as assessment and funding applications and familiarity with NCCD processes and the &#39;Personal Planning Tool&#39;</li><li>Ability to ensure that students with diverse learning needs are identified, assessed and appropriately supported both academically and pastorally</li><li>Capacity to assist in leading the ongoing development of differentiated pedagogy and assessment which is informed by evidence-based approaches and the skilled use of data</li><li>Providing sound leadership to and administration of the Diverse Learning Team (Literacy &amp;
