The preferred candidate will be enthusiastic, keen to engage and inspire our students and be able to deliver a curriculum that caters for students with different learning styles.</p><p>You will be responsible for the effective implementation of the NESA Science syllabus, and as such, you are a role model personally and professionally. You will have the ability to develop positive relationships, foster a culture of collaboration and inquiry and be proactive in your support of the Catholic mission and values of Mary MacKillop College.</p><p><b>About you</b></p><ul><li>be a qualified teacher and be committed to the full range of College activities</li><li>be committed to the Catholic ethos and values of our school </li><li>be an enthusiastic educator who can contribute to the culture of the school and its community</li><li>have secondary education qualifications to teach Science</li><li>have the ability and/or experience in teaching Stage 6 Science subjects</li><li>have the ability to teach in another KLA may be an advantage</li><li>have an understanding of the education of girls</li><li>be a highly effective, innovative and motivated educator with a passion for learning and teaching</li><li>have the ability to differentiate instruction and personalise learning for students from Year 7 to Year 12</li><li>have an understanding of assessment for learning, as learning and of learning</li><li>have the ability to integrate effective feedback in student learning</li><li>be able to cater for the diverse needs of learners</li><li>have a proven ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team</li><li>possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills</li><li>possess a sound knowledge of the NSW Science curriculum</li><li>have an understanding of the requirements of the NSW Education Standards Authority</li><li>have a strong work ethic</li></ul><p><b>Selection Criteria</b></p><p>All applications must address the following Selection Criteria. The Selection Criteria for the Science position require the applicant to explain, and provide examples if relevant, of:</p><ul><li>their understanding of and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic Church</li><li>their ability to teach Science to Stage 6</li><li>their ability to teach in another Key Learning Area (not essential)</li><li>exemplary classroom practice, utilising a range of effective contemporary pedagogies</li><li>excellent classroom management skills</li><li>effective communication skills with students, staff and parents</li><li>a proven ability to work collegially within a faculty</li><li>a commitment to growing the College&#39;s culture of learning and thinking</li></ul><p><b>Working with Children Check (WWCC)</b></p><p>This role is classified as child-related work and therefore requires a WWCC clearance prior to commencement of employment.</p><p><b>COVID-19 Vaccination Evidence</b></p><p>Sydney Catholic Schools is committed to ensuring the safety of our staff, students and school communities.
