Prince of Peace Lutheran College is seeking a Science Laboratory Technician, 20 hours per week

<div><i>Prince of Peace Lutheran College is a K-12 co-educational, independent, Christian school located at Everton Hills in the north-western suburbs of Brisbane. The College was established by the Prince of Peace Lutheran Congregation in 1984 to provide quality Christian education to the children of the community.</i></div><div><i><br /></i></div><div><i>Prince of Peace Lutheran College offers classes on two sites from Kindergarten to Year 12 with approximately 860 students enrolled. The Junior Campus (K-6) is located at Rogers Parade West, Everton Park. The Middle &amp; Senior Campus, 1 km away at Henderson Road, Everton Hills was opened in July 2009 and is home to Years 7-12.<br /><br /></i></div><div>******************************</div><div><br /></div><ul><li><b>This is a permanent position, </b><strong>20 hours per week, commencing as soon as possible.  </strong></li><li><strong>Hours &amp; Days will be negotiated as part of the interview process.<br /><br /></strong></li><li><b>It is essential that applicants have a demonstrated capacity in working as a science technician or within a similar environment.</b><br /><br /></li><li><b>Must be available for an interview the week commencing 31st January, 2022.</b><br /><br /></li><li>Applications are invited from suitably qualified and committed professionals who are enthusiastic, innovative and dedicated, and who are willing to support the Christian ethos of the College and develop as an educator in a team environment.<br /><br /></li></ul><h4><b>SELECTION CRITERIA</b></h4><p><b>1. Demonstrated skills which reflect, are commitment to, and understanding of, the Christian ethos of the College </b></p><p><b>2. Demonstrated professional skills</b><br /></p><ul><li> Ability to develop professional relationships with children </li><li> Ability to develop professional relationships with staff, colleagues, parents and members of the community </li></ul><p><b>3. Demonstrated ability to maintain a science laboratory or similar scientific space</b><br /></p><ul><li>Assist in demonstration of experiments under the supervision of an academic staff member</li><li>Prepare, maintain and dispense stock solutions, simple chemical mixtures and compounds, cultures or similar materials</li><li>Perform Laboratory Assistant duties according to Workplace Health &amp; Safety requirements ensuring a quality professional service</li><li>Be familiar with MSDS and hazardous substances and other chemicals and keep up to date records of these substances</li><li>Be familiar with Chemwatch database system and RiskAssess, or similar.</li></ul><p><b>4. Knowledge and Qualifications</b><br /></p><ul><li>Relevant qualification or experience in a scientific space desirable</li><li>Do you have, or are you eligible to receive, a positive Blue Card Notice for working with children prior to commencement?
