<p><b>Applications are invited from suitably qualified, highly motivated and innovative professionals with a passion for cultural education programs for Koorie students within Catholic Education in the Mercy tradition.</b></p><p><b>Koorie Educator Worker</b><br /></p><p>A full-time position is available at Mount Lilydale Mercy College commencing as soon as possible. </p><p><br /></p><p><b>CRITERIA</b></p><p>The successful applicant will be part of the Learning Diversity Team supporting the educational and cultural needs of Koorie students at Mount Lilydale Mercy College.</p><p>The Koorie Educator Worker (KEW) will undertake duties which require knowledge and skills, which may be gained by the completion of a relevant one or two year post-secondary certificate or from previous on-the-job experience considered relevant by the Principal.</p><p>Applicants must have the following attributes:<br /></p><ul><li>knowledge and understanding of the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and issues related to these cultures in Australian society <br /></li><li>the ability to effectively communicate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, their students, families and carers </li><li>the ability to effectively communicate with school principals, leadership teams and staff </li><li>knowledge of, and commitment, to improving learning outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students </li><li>knowledge of, and commitment, to child safety, including the provision of a child safe environment</li><li>an understanding of, and sensitivity, to the Catholic Church Mission.</li></ul><p>Key tasks associated with this role would include:<br /></p><ul><li>Network with Open the Doors Foundation and Aboriginal Catholic Ministry Vic.</li><li>Provision of assistance and support to Aboriginal students to achieve improved educational outcomes  </li><li>Participation in school activities to assist in creating a culturally inclusive environment </li><li>Encouragement of Aboriginal communities to participate in school education</li><li>Participation in school activities to assist in creating a child safe environment</li></ul><p><b>It is a condition of employment that all staff working in the Education industry must provide evidence of their COVID-19 Vaccination status.</b></p><p>Please refer to the Koorie Educator Worker Role Description which is available from our website at www.mlmc.vic.edu.au/about-us/employment for further details.<br /></p><p><b>Applications are required to be lodged on the Official Non-Teaching Staff Application Form and all documents merged into one single PDF.  The Official Application Form and Role Description is available from our website at www.mlmc.vic.edu.au/about-us/employment</b><br /></p><p>Applicants should submit their application by forwarding an accompanying letter and Curriculum Vitae with their completed Application Form via email to employment&#64;mlmc.vic.edu.au.<br /></p><p>The names of three confidential referees and their telephone contact details, including personal telephone numbers, should be included in the application.</p><p>All staff are expected to support the Catholic ethos of the College and to abide by the Statement of Principles Regarding Catholic Education.</p><p>Applications must hold a current Employee Working with Children Check and National Police Record Check</p><p>Mount Lilydale Mercy College is an equal opportunity employer.</p><p>Interested applicants are invited to obtain any additional information about the College and this position by email: employment&#64;mlmc.vic.edu.au.</p><p><b>Applications for this position close on Monday 14 February at 4.00pm</b><br /></p><p><i>This College community promotes the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children.</i><br /></p>
